Brunnings, Folk Song Index (Garland) says a song entitled "Joy of Heaven" is in Walford Davies, The New Fellowship Song Book, though I've never seen the songbook. Can it be the one asked for?

I have a tape of the Chuck Wagon Gang with the song Joy Of Heaven.
Was looking on the net for it and your site is the only hit I got.
Wasn't looking forward to listening to the tape over and over to write it all down.

THE JOY OF HEAVEN was written by Rupert Cravens and Elwood Denson - ©1950.

It's in Bill Gaither's "Homecoming Souvenir Songbook, Volume III"

I found some lyrics at NameThatHymn.com and tweaked them a bit to make them correspond to what I hear in the recording (but see footnote):

THE JOY OF HEAVEN
As sung by The Chuck Wagon Gang on "30 Country Gospel Favorites" (2010)

1. The joy of heaven is swelling in my soul ev'ry day ('tis swelling)
Sweeter it grows (to me) and daily o'erflows
The love that saved me, I'm telling all along on my way
I'm glad for Jesus' amazing grace to me (to me)

CHORUS: The joy of heaven (the joy of heav'n)
Is rising, swelling (it rises, swells)
Within my heart (in my heart)
To ever surge and roll (to ever surge and roll)
It gives me vict'ry (gives victory)
O'er sin and evil (o'er ev'ry sin)
And ever floods (ever floods)
My happy newborn soul (my happy newborn soul)
The loving Savior (Savior)
Leads me by his spirit here,
His love divine (love)
I see in ev'ry place (see His place)
Oh, hallelujah! (Oh, praise His name)
Oh, glory, glory! (I'm glad He came)
I praise the Lord (praise the Lord)
For His amazing grace (His grace)

2. This joy of heaven is given by the spirit within (abiding)
Grace so freely He doth impart
And with my spirit bears witness that I am saved from all sin
I'm glad for Jesus' amazing grace to me (to me)
REPEAT CHORUS

3. The joy of heaven, like billows, ever rolls on and on (increasing)
Glory so free ('tis ever) bringing to me
This great salvation will keep me till life's morning shall dawn
I' m glad for Jesus' amazing grace to me (to me)
REPEAT CHORUS

---
The Chuck Wagon Gang omits verse 2 in the recording I heard. Verse 2 comes from NameThatHymn.com. I made an attempt to format it in parallel with verses 1 and 3, but something seems to be missing.

The whole song is sung in call-and-response fashion, but the above notation doesn't quite do it justice because there is some overlap.
