Subject: My bookmarks say error From: GUEST Date: 12 Mar 01 - 06:56 PM My bookmarks to this site are all registering errors and I am unable to connect to this site via my home computer. What's up with that? It's not the first time it's happened but in the past it just seemed to magically fix itself. Cornfused |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Amergin Date: 12 Mar 01 - 06:59 PM It might be a corrupt cookie.....If you are using IE you can go to tools and then internet options and then delete temporary internet files......and then click on clear history.....it might help you out a bit.... |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Max Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:03 PM Go here: http://www.mudcat.org/Login.cfm and login again. This will fix your problem. |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Snuffy Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:40 PM I think the main server (shorty) was down for a while today. I had to access mudcat through loki.mudcat.org instead of www.mudcat.org this lunchtime (8am EST). If you get errors with www.mudcat try loki.mudcat or ragtime.mudcat - they often work when www doesn't |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Jon Freeman Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:46 PM Snuffy, in case you missed it (or it may be of use to others), Max has also added a new member called dharma to the family. He has also provided links to them in the Help Forum Jon |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Snuffy Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:50 PM Thanks for that, Jon. I'll bookmark dharma. I didn't think it was a cookie problem, 'cos GUESTs don't have cookies, right? Or does mudcat put a cookie on your machine whether you're a member or not? Wassail! V |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Jeri Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:58 PM Snuffy, correct - guests don't get cookies. I had problems yesterday too, and spent most of it on Loki. |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Jon Freeman Date: 12 Mar 01 - 07:59 PM Snuffy, I am not clear on what error GUEST is reffering to. My interpretation of what he said would have lead me to think your way but there is a condition whereby a corrupt cookie produces an error message and posting is impossible short of logging off/ resetting cookie. It seems like both posibilities have been covered now. Jon |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: reggie miles Date: 13 Mar 01 - 01:36 AM That was me. Logging off and resetting my cookie didn't fix the errors. I'm still baffled. I did however find another bookmark that has not yet been affected by this bug. To answer a previous post, yep, I use IE. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep trying. |

Subject: RE: BS: My bookmarks say error From: Sorcha Date: 13 Mar 01 - 01:49 AM I've had troubles with all the servers for the last 2 days, but one of them always seems to work. Not necessarily the same one........I've been on all of them.
When I post and there is a delay, I get off line......then come back on line on a different server. The post does not always show up on the server I posyted to, but it does show up on the others. Later, when I go to the server I posted on, the post is there......I assume because of the "rotary" function. I have never had cookie problems, but I delete all cookies every day, because I do so many searches. Lots of sites set cookies without asking.......at least MudCat asks...... |
