So, have you ever wanted to take a song from another genre and add something new to it!! Tell us about it here.

I've been doing Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" and Dodgy's "Good Enough" acoustically...they work great with big boom-chicka-boom-chicka guitar chops.

Since I'm a huge fan of Japanese rock too, I've always wanted to take TM Network's "7 Days War" and add a hug chorus of Highland pipes.

For a couple years now I'm wanted to graft in Sor's Etude in B minor over the solo in "Hotel California". I already did something like this when I replaced the string quartet cadenzas in Deep Purple's "Anthem" with a little 2-part dance tune by an anonymous Renaissance composer.

I guess you're already aware of just how perfectly the lyrics to "Pinball Wizard" fit the melody of "Folsom Prison Blues"...

We did Sail Away Ladies to The Bananaboat Song and called it Don't She Rock 'em Day-O. The Euphoria Stringband masquerading as Pink Void actually took second place one year at Cliftop WV in the non-traditional stringband division with it.
Amazing.

I was inspired by Loreena McKennitt's "Greensleeves," which she tried to do a la Tom Waits (whether or not she succeeded is a matter for debate, but as one relatively ignorant of Tom Waits, I'll bow out of THAT discussion). :)

"Greensleeves" is a beautiful song that's become a cliche, sadly. I'd love to perform it a la Tori Amos (she does amazing covers--usually don't resemble the original in anything but the most basic component, and she always adds a new element. You haven't lived until you've heard her sing "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Anyway. That's my $.02

I was at my cousin's wedding last week. The band was "Celtic" something. They consisted of a female singer, an accordian, a fiddle, a Stratocater, Bass and Drums. I loved their version of the Ramones "Sedated".

My fantasy covers would be made of silk or fine linen, and a nice fuzzy sheepskin...wait... that's not the kind of covers you're talking about is it?
