Has anyone heard of this singer? I may have the last name a little wrong as I caught it briefly on the radio this morning but not the title of the song.

Morty, her name is Sinead Lohan, a cute lil Irish lass with cornrows, and a beautiful voice. Her version of Bob Dylan's "To Ramona" is awesome.

According to my sources, it was never an album track, but rather an album-independant single.

I could be wrong but last time I heard Mike Harding play it on Radio 2 I think he mentioned it would be coming out, on a compilation cd perhaps?

Fish records have a compilation of the same title. Not sure who else is on there
I know over in the US you can support mudcat by buying CD's via the links but since over here in the UK we can't then we might as well support a small distributer who pushes the sales of relatively unknown performers. Anyway neil always used to wrap his CD's in nice green wrapping with a little fish sticker ! really cute, must have taken him hours. Think his business has grown some recently though.
Has Sorcha beat me to the track listing at Grapevine?
