As young boys in the early 1950', my cousin and I listened to Phil Harris' Elmer and the Bear played on a grank-up Victrola with a bamboo needle until we nearly wore the groves off the disk. After "hiding" for more than 50 years, the original 78 resurfaced when my cousin was sorting through some of his mothers stuff and we now have digitized copies of both Elmer and the Bear and The Mountaineer and the Jaberwock. The find included a couple of Spike Jones originals and a Gene Autry disk with his famous recording of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. These too are now digitized for posterity..
