Subject: Lyr Add: DUBLIN TAKE ME (Rab Noakes) From: Jim Dixon Date: 08 Aug 11 - 07:20 PM Lyrics copied from http://www.roguery.com/gurrier/dublin_songs/dublintakeme.htm DUBLIN TAKE ME (Rab Noakes) If you're goin' back to Dublin, take me. On a night like this, there's nowhere else I'd rather be. Just pick me up and carry me across the Irish Sea. If you're goin' back to Dublin, take me. If I can't make it, please take my regards To Sweeny O'Donagh, my good friend down in Rathgar. Keep a clean nose for the customs man and a big smile for the Guards. If I can't make it, please take my regards. CHORUS: Sunny days in the Wicklow Mountains, and music on Merrion Row, Rainy nights in the Gresham Hotel, O Lord, I gotta, I gotta go. I'll meet you under the arch in Trinity around about eight And if it don't rain I'll be waiting outside of the gate. We can go to O'Neill's and talk all night and tomorrow when heaven can wait, I'll meet you under the arch in Trinity around about eight. CHORUS If you're goin' back to Dublin, take me. On a night like this, there's nowhere else I'd rather be. Just pick me up and carry me across the Irish Sea. If you're goin' back to Dublin, take me. CHORUS If you're goin' back to Dublin, I said, if you're goin' back to Dublin, If you're goin' back to Dublin, take me, take me, take me. |

Subject: RE: Dublin - Take Me ! From: Harald Date: 24 Nov 97 - 02:45 PM It´s on a sampler containing lots of Dublin-Songs. The whole is called someting like "Memories of Ireland" or so. The most on it sounds like the title suggests, but Dublin-Take Me doesn´t want to fit into this scheme. Very interesting song. |
Subject: RE: Dublin - Take Me ! From: Carl Date: 17 Nov 97 - 10:46 AM I don´t know that song. On which record did you find it ? |
Subject: RE: Dublin - Take Me ! From: alison Date: 06 Nov 97 - 06:23 AM hi My then fiance (now husband), had just come back from a contracting job in Saudi, and was trying to make a good impression. Haven't been in it again since. Slainte Alison |

Subject: RE: Dublin - Take Me ! From: alison Date: 03 Nov 97 - 11:36 PM Hi Harald don't know the song, but it is probably the "Gresham Hotel" which is one of the main hotels in Dublin. Spent a weekend there once. Slainte alison |
Subject: Lyr Add: DUBLIN - TAKE ME From: Harald Date: 03 Nov 97 - 09:01 PM About a year ago, I came across a song called "Dublin - Take Me" sung by Finbar Furey and Davey Arthur. Very boogie-like. Quite untypical, at least for F.Furey. Does anybody know, if they did more like this ? Or is anyone able to fill the gaps ? I´d be very glad to get the song complete. Here is what I could get from the record:
Dublin - Take Me If you´re going back to Dublin - take me |
