Subject: Do you download music? From: nat Date: 20 Mar 01 - 04:44 PM Hello, Can you help me? I'm writing a dissertation on how the availability of free music on the internet will effect the future of music retail in the UK. Would anyone that downloads music from the internet be willing to complete a questionnaire for my research? It's not long or complicated. If anyone is able to help me, please send me your email address, and I'll email you the questionnaire, I hope to hear from you soon, Natalie harvey_natalie@hotmail.com |

Subject: RE: Help: Do you download music? From: Steve Latimer Date: 21 Mar 01 - 10:04 AM I won't download from Napster as I feel that artists are entitled to royalties, but I have downloaded from Amazon.com's free download section. I figure that the artists must have given the okay to do this in order to promote their music. |
Subject: RE: Help: Do you download music? From: BobP Date: 21 Mar 01 - 10:14 AM Will your dissertation mention this hypothesis? "Most of what's out there isn't worth the bother, even for free". And, maybe that's what the music industry is really trying to determine.

Subject: RE: Help: Do you download music? From: Mrs.Duck Date: 21 Mar 01 - 12:25 PM I do download music and if I like it I go out and buy the CD. So, far from reducing sales, I think it can increase them as otherwise I would not pay the exhorbitant price of £15 only to find I didn't like what I'd bought. |

Subject: RE: Help: Do you download music? From: BobP Date: 21 Mar 01 - 01:27 PM To LOL!! (paraphrasing ol' Hoyt) Well, I'd never download nuttin, cause only folkstuf smacks my button. Look for gems among old vinyl, where all purchases are final, I shop the cheap stacks, Avoid the new racks, cause that's collectin. (Except at concerts where I buy one or two of what whomever I came to see brought).
