Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bridge Over Troubled Water From: catspaw49 Date: 21 Mar 01 - 10:21 AM While Sorcha looks for the dots, let me apologize for being abrupt. Firecat, when I read your post it was one of those that just get to me sometimes. We get a ton of requests for songs that are easy to find with very little work. First I ran a quick search on the Forum and DT Search and got it which is simple. Enter a phrase of short word group and you'll get the hits. Same is true with a search engine such as Google which gave me pages of hits, although I don't recall the number. I posted one and was going to come back and explain how to search the forum and DT, but as Sorch already posted that, then let me add this. Read the FAQ. There is an excellent section on searching the DT as well as the forum. There is also a list of Singer/Songwriter links as well as the regular links section of the 'Cat where you can find tons of other lyrics sites. Were this an obscure song, I guess it wouldn't bother me and if you were not a member, even less. But one of the things a lot of us do and the reason we're here in reality, is to search and find and post lyrics, especially those that are difficult to find. This one isn't and it behooves most members to have a look before they ask. Okay......Seems like a lecture....and I guess it is. No offense intended or meant here, just a suggestion that maybe we could all use now and then. Learn how to do the searches and you can save yourself a lot of time as well as being able to aid guests who are looking for them too. Spaw |

BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS [DT lyrics] (Paul Simon) (C) C F C / F C F G7 C Am C / C G C G G7 C Am C F D G / C G F G7 C Am F E Am When you're weary, Feeling small When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all I'm on your side when times get rough And friends just can't be found Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down When you're down and out, when you're on the street When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you I'll take your part when darkness comes And pain is all around Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down Sail on silver girl, sail on by Your time has come to shine all your dreams are on their way See how they shine, if you need a friend, I'm sailing right behind Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind ---------------------------------------------------------------- Words and music by Paul Simon, copyright 1967 by the author.
