William Hanna, who with his friend Joseph Barbera, created the world's best cartoons has died aged 90.
Our thoughts to Violet, his wife for 65 years, who is 90 today.

Mike

He will be missed. He and Joseph Barbera have brought me hours of joy. Here is a short biography of the two men.

For anyone into cartoons and the future of cutting edge web animation should visit

Hannas death is a sad loss to all toon freaks. One can only imagine what he would have done with the technology to come.

RIP Willy

Sad news. I am still in mourning for Jim Henson. I hope each was satisfied with the good he had done.

I must demur. The world's greatest cartoons were created by Ward and Scott. Hanna Barbera aren't even a close second.

And may I mention that Scrappy Doo just killed the whole concept of a semi-talking dog (viz. Scooby), and thereby ruined the whole show?

But I will admit that Huckleberry Hound was a classic.

I must admit that Scrappy Doo did kill Scooby Do for me but still Hanna Barbera cartoons have given me countless hours of pleasure.

Well, Tris could care less. At age 9 and perhaps functionally 5 in the best areas and less in others, he just knows they make him happy............and like I said, thanks for that.

I don't think they made the best cartoons, either, and in fact, made a lot of crap ones... but they had their moments of genius, and William Hanna should be mourned and missed. Rest in Peace.
