Thought I'd try this again. Have this song on tape but can't decipher all the lyrics. It's sung by a woman but don't know who. I'm not sure if all the words are correct I suspect not The bit I know goes :-

Photograph, Faded in sepia Look at that there's your grandparents And what about that room

All in America gone to the war None would come back to the wee (maybe grey) Barra Shore

If any one can shed light on this I'd be v grateful

It's 'Gweebarra', Sarah. It's the title track of Maggie Boyle's last CD, and was written by her brother about the part of Ireland their family comes from.

THANKS THANKS !!! I shall rush off to yon folk shoppe with the cash. You don't happen to know if the CD contains a lyric sheet do you ? If not do you happen to know the lyrics for this song ? Well at least I know what its called and where it comes from now. It pays to persevere with mudcat and keep refreshing Thanks a million

You're entirely welcome. No lyric sheet, unfortunately, but you shouldn't have any difficulty transcribing from the recording.

Have found and bought the CD It's brill. The lyrics are a bit easier to hear than on the tape I had. Thanks for your help Sam.
