It pays to persevere with mudcat and keep refreshing Thanks a million Sarah |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Wee or Grey 'Barra' shore From: GUEST,Sam Hudson Date: 29 Mar 01 - 03:25 AM It's 'Gweebarra', Sarah. It's the title track of Maggie Boyle's last CD, and was written by her brother about the part of Ireland their family comes from. There's a review of the album here: http://www.folkmusic.net/htmfiles/webrevs/prcd05.htm The CD's fairly widely available on folkie CD stalls here in the UK. |

Subject: Wee or Grey 'Barra' shore From: Sarah the flute Date: 26 Mar 01 - 05:02 AM Thought I'd try this again. Have this song on tape but can't decipher all the lyrics. It's sung by a woman but don't know who. I'm not sure if all the words are correct I suspect not The bit I know goes :- Photograph, Faded in sepia Look at that there's your grandparents And what about that room All in America gone to the war None would come back to the wee (maybe grey) Barra Shore If any one can shed light on this I'd be v grateful Thanks Sarah |
