Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: katlaughing Date: 29 Mar 01 - 08:46 PM I have Iain MacKintosh singing it on a mixed tape another Mudcatter gave me. If someone else can't find it or post it for you, we could figure out a way to get it to you by email, I suppose. katlaughing aka kat |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: GUEST,She Who Sells Seashells By the Seashore Date: 29 Mar 01 - 08:57 PM "Take the Children and Run" was written by Don Lange. It was on his LP called "Don Lange Live." I have never seen any of Don's LPs reissued on CD. He's now a winemaker in Oregon. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: GUEST,Katrine (Kat) Date: 30 Mar 01 - 09:27 AM I'm looking forthe sound file of it. I suppose I should have specified that, eh? (And why did I have to pick such a rare song to want?) |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: Dani Date: 30 Mar 01 - 09:29 AM I thought you were talking about the song that Sweet Honey in the Rock sings. I think that's called "Run". Can you tell more about the song you're looking for? |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: katlaughing Date: 30 Mar 01 - 10:09 AM It's in the DT, HERE. Don can be reached at his winery:
Lange Winery In their blurb it said he'd put out three cd's, if I remember right, and that song was listed on his "Live" one. If all else fails, I think I can make a sound file, so just let me know. If you join, you could send me your email addy by Personal Message, which is private. Or, click here to e-mail me. It might take me a day or two to find the tape and get it from tape into my hard drive, as I am having company this weekend, but if no one else comes up with it that might be what we need to do. Good luck, kat |

Thanks soo much for helping me. I know the lyrics already, heck, I found them here, which is why I thought I'd try to see if I could get a sound file of it through this site. |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Take the Children and Run From: Art Thieme Date: 01 Apr 01 - 10:37 PM Don is doing a concert in Toledo, Oregon very soon, It's part of a series put on by Mudcatter Frank In Toledo. I understand there are very few (if any) Don Lange concerts these days. But the wine is wonderful I've been told. Don Lange is a great artist. Recently I picked up a CD of live Kate Wolf things where she and Don did a duet of Bruce Utah Phillips' "Rock Salt And Nails". An aside: Once, in Chicago 25 years ago, we were doing a show together and someone stole the new sign proclaiming Don's being on the bill. They rummaged in the back room and found the OLD LANGE SYNE. So they used that. Art Thieme |
