Here is my ode to Daylight Savings Time, as sung to the tune The Lea Rig by Robert Burns. My apologies to The Bard.

As I gaed out one April morn
Tae see the cows and the ducks in flight
My timepiece said twas 6:00 AM
But aye, the middle of the goddam night
I ran tae my bed, but I was nae tired
The darkness had perplexed my mind
My dearie said you're not insane
Twas only Daylight Savings Time

Bob Pegritz

LOL! I wish they would just leave well enough alone. And here in New England we'll be springing forward on Sunday, the earliest date it can happen, and we just got 6 more inches of snow!

Our local vicar was walking down the path past the graveyard, looked across and saw a cherry tree in blossom. At that moment he saw the verger approaching. Cheerily he hailed him, "Spring in the air, verger", he cried. The verger scowled across at him and muttered "Do it yourself vicar, it's my day off!"
Quack!

Now i hear some stupid legislator is suggesting a TWO-hour spring ahead for California, Oregon, and Washington.

Ye gods! It's already hard enough to go to sleep when the sky stays light until well after 9:30 in mid-June.

Why can't they just leave bad enough alone?

From: keberoxu

There are more than two verses to this one, but this is all I could find online. Please chime in with the rest of the verses.

For years and years folks got along
With an old grandfather's clock
Or just a common old sundial
Sittin' out on a block
The dollar watch, it had its day,
An' the wrist watch, it was fine
Then along came a man who ruined us all
with DAYLIGHT SAVIN' TIME

I'm a-huntin' that man who first thought up
this DAYLIGHT SAVIN' TIME
Until he moved the clocks around
Ev'rything was a-goin' fine
But I guess he's hid and he won't come out
He knows he's out o' line
But I get up late
I have to wait
Can't get it straight
Who did he hate
I mean the man who first thought up
that DAYLIGHT SAVIN' TIME

Scared up another verse here, sounds like it comes after the opening verse. Or pieces of several verses....help?

His followers will argue that
They've gained an hour of light
By moving all the clocks around
But I can't see they're right

The sun still rises just the same
And sets just as before
If they'd rise sixty minutes early
Maybe they'd have an hour more

So why not leave the clocks alone
So folks won't be confused
Let 'em hit the floor
An hour before
If it's daylight that they choose....
