Subject: RE: Sing me a country song From: Jim Dixon Date: 18 Feb 11 - 11:07 AM The song in our DT that fits your description is called A COUNTRY SONG. It is said to have been sung by Eric Bogle and Jack Munroe on a BBC radio broadcast in 1979. It is tentatively attributed to "T. Mayers?" This might be a good opportunity to have a lot of Mudcatters look at the song to see if they can identify it. It would be nice to have reliable, verifiable information like who wrote it, what is it's correct title, who recorded it (if anyone) and on what album. Allmusic.com and ASCAP say there have been lots of songs called A COUNTRY SONG. |
Subject: Sing me a country song From: Moira Cameron Date: 14 Nov 97 - 10:49 AM I found this song when I did a general search on Eric Bogle. It isn't written by him, and the database didn't seem to know who the author was. I believe it was written by the same person who wrote "Bloody Rotten Audience"--Tony Miles. Can anyone verify this? |
