P.

From: Midchuck

If so:

RING OF FIRE
Merle Kilgore and June Carter (Cash)

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

CHORUS:
I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild
CHORUS

(I get so irritated with some of these....what about "Please"? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I'm inclined to NOT answer the ones formatted like this..)Even if you think you are talking to a computer, politeness never hurt anybody, now did it?

Did anybody e mail? Looks like he expects it. I didn't, and won't.

Sorcha, I think you get some people who have Mudcat and DT confused in their heads. They think it's like a lyric service that you just type in a title and it produces lyrics back at you.

I don't think it's intentional rudeness.

Peter.

Maybe not, but couldn't they err on the side of caution? There seem to have been a rash of them lately, or maybe it's just me being cranky. I can do that rather well, I know, (grin)

I guess it's just having to be "too nice" in my 3D world. What can I say when my "other" kids show up asking
Can I use the Washer?(which includes soap, bleach, etc.)
Can I borrow potatoes?
Can I use your computer?
Can I eat supper?
Will you loan (give) me $10?
Can I crash here tonight(or for 3 weeks)?
Can I take a couple rolls of toilet paper for my flat?
Can I use your phone to call long distance?

I know, I know, at least most of them ask (not all!) and I know I allow myself to be imposed upon. Most of them haven't had much "raising", and I try to help, just like I do here. It's just nice to be asked, and to have a please and thank you once in a while.

I do feel privilged that they feel "at home" enough here to do these things. I just wish a few more of them would have sense enough to do little "honey dos" like carry out the trash, mow the yard or carry in and dump salt in the water softner if they don't have any money. If they do have job/money, they could buy laundry soap, give me a few dollars for the phone or water bill, buy food for me to cook once in a while.

I guess, over the years, I have made my bed. Sorry, rant off. Somebody come get this soap box, please?

Spaw, how many "others" you got? Last count I had 3 "full time" others, and at least 7 part time others.....not to mention the Occasionals.....and Bubba Luke's SO is none of the above........of course, she is Female, and some of them do the same thing to her. Spaw, maybe we should combine households somewhere in Missouri........we could at least escape the Locals........ LOL!

Hey, Sorcha, couldn't you just ask them to help out in some way instead of expecting them to understand your aggravation? You know, say to the one with a job that it'd be helpful if they brought along some soap next time? Or just tell the ones without the jobs that you could use their help around the house? It's probably more complicated than that, I know; but I've found that overstating the obvious is usually only obvious to the one doing the overstating! By the way, I've got about six loads of laundry on the floor right now. Can I come to your house if I bring my own soap AND mow the lawn? (Anything to avoid the laundromat!) Margaret

I heard that Ring of fire was written when Johnny Cash asked June for the vaseoline to put on his hemorrhoid and she gave him the Bengay.I certainly can understand the frustration that Sorcha is having because I think as we grow older our kids take advantage of our mellowing years Chin up Sorcha Louie Roy
