Subject: April? From: GUEST,Wordwitch Date: 11 Apr 01 - 02:14 PM I'm looking for definitive lyrics to "April Showers." I'd found several copies out on folks' websites, but I thought I'd come here and see what Mudcat had. When I search on "april" nothing comes up for me. When I scroll through the As, I find "April, Come She may." What's happening? |
Subject: RE: Help: April? From: mousethief Date: 11 Apr 01 - 02:19 PM "April" and "April," are two different words to our search engine (because of existence/absence of comma). It's a problem, we know. If you're looking for a "definitive" version of a folk/traditional song, you're going to be disappointed; no such thing, almost by definition. Alex |

Subject: Lyr Add: APRIL SHOWERS (De Silva/Silvers) From: Jim Dixon Date: 19 Oct 10 - 07:44 AM Bambi? No, Bombo! APRIL SHOWERS Words, B. B. De Silva. Music, Louis Silvers. New York: Sunshine Music Co., 1921. "Al Jolson's Hits in Messrs. Lee & J. J. Shubert's Production of The Musical Extravaganza Bombo." 1. Life is not a highway strewn with flowers; Still it holds a goodly share of bliss. When the sun gives way to April showers, Here's the point that you should never miss: CHORUS: Though April showers May come your way, They bring the flowers That bloom in May; So if it's raining, have no regrets, Because it isn't raining rain, you know; it's raining violets. And where you see clouds Upon the hills, You soon will see crowds Of daffodils; So keep on looking for a bluebird and list'ning for his song, Whenever April showers come along. 2. I have learned to smile when skies are gloomy. Smile although my heart's about to break, When I know that trouble's coming to me, Here's the happy attitude I take: CHORUS |
