Subject: RE: Neddie Seagoon - Farewell From: Lanfranc Date: 11 Apr 01 - 07:05 PM I'll miss the twinkle in his eye. I'll miss the silly grin. Another significant part of my growing up gone. RIP Neddie - I hope your faith is justified and you meet up with Michael Bentine and Peter Sellers for some heavenly hilarity. This sad old world needs more laughtermongers of his ilk, not less. God, you dirty rotten swine, you've deaded him!

Subject: RE: Neddie Seagoon - Farewell From: GUEST,Den Date: 11 Apr 01 - 06:38 PM Goodbye "little Welsh titch of no fixed trousers," I'm deeply saddened. There is hardly a day goes by that the Goons are not played on the tape deck in my truck. I drive my kids to school every day and they love to hear the Goons tapes. He will live forever. Goodnight Neddy. Den |

Subject: RE: Neddie Seagoon - Farewell From: Murray MacLeod Date: 11 Apr 01 - 05:32 PM What what what what what? "Sadder place" is right. I never laughed at any comedy more heartily than at the Goon Show. RIP Sir Harry Murray |
Subject: Neddie Seagoon - Farewell From: Fiolar Date: 11 Apr 01 - 05:21 PM The great comedian and singer Harry Secombe passed away at around 3pm today April 11th 2001. He had been suffering from cancer for some time. A founder member of the Goons of which the only survivor is Spike Milligan, Sir Harry will be missed by millions. I recall his madcap humour in the early fifties in the Goon Shows and later in films and on television. His "Highway" series was always a favourite of mine. I will now go and listen to my treasured collection of "Goon Show" tapes and weep for the loss of a great humourist. Tonight the world is a sadder place. Sleep well old friend. |
