Hi,

On the CD, Live from Matt Molloys, there is a tune played on the whistle which is listed as 'Cape Breton Jigs' on the cover.

Does anyone know what the name of the tune/tunes is ?

Cheers,

have you tried JC's?. I put in Cape Breton and then looked at the txt option of one of the jigs returned from the search. here the text mentions Music at Matt Molloys, is it what you are after?
You can return the same tune in the other formats as well, its just that the abc txt gave me the added info I was looking for

Roger

I've tried Charlie Hunter and the other one from JCs - the one that has no name, and they are both what I am after. So I am pretty pleased. I now suspect though that there is a third tune in the set and I am curious....

Cheers,

Seany

Seany,
Do you know about the Cape BReton Music List? Or the Scots-L and Kitchen Ceilidh Music lists?

You might try asking that question in those mailing lists. Some very knowledgeable people there.

Including people like Jerry Holland, and Paul Cranford.

Good luck.

Did you read the text in that second link?
.....Played as a set with Cape Breton #2 and McGurk'So back to JC's search for McGurk and here is the txt version which says
Played in a set after the two Cape Breton Jigs
Again it is available in different formats like this
and thre are several McGurk's returned by a search using JC's

Roger

There is also Cranford Pub Cape Breton Tunes which has a search engine if you come up with titles.

It looks like that is all 3 of them. CB #1 is Roger/Sheffield's first post, the link that says "here". McGurk's is at JC's, and CB #2 is at web wide. I think I'll go collect them all and post them all together in the right order, OK?

I tried mcGurks - I didn't think it sounded nearly as good as the two Cape Breton Jigs !

I've got two excellent tunes to add to my repertoire so I'm happy ! Cheers,
