The former thread is here.

Morning, Kendall and Brett! Yes, you're right. Roll&Go-C has been transformed into member Charley Noble whose story runs something like this:

Originally the name of the chimney fitted when the galley fires were lit to take the smoke above decks aboard ships. Of course, any greenhorn sailor as part of his initiation rite was soon instructed to carry an important message to "Charley," and if he were not immediately found on deck, to ask politely for help from the more experienced sailors. The search then generally led up to the main top, back down and up forward to the chain locker, down the main hatch and into the dark depths of the hold, a rare and wonderful exercise.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Doesn't look like I'm having much luck getting people to switch over to this thread. I thought the rule was that you went to a new one at 100 posts.

Of course, the last couple of posts are from Sandy and Kendall, and they're pretty long in the tooth...not many people on here older than me. Maybe they confuse easily nowadays. Peg, I don't know about.

Nyuck, Nyuck.

Peter.

I was talking about Sandy Paton!

Are we having an egocentricity fit tonight?

Sandy Paton is just too damn independent to be led any farther or faster than Kendall. I've been rowing upstream all my life, and I'm too cantankerous an old fart to change my ways.

Besides, there ain't no rules on the Mudcat, aside from the simple recommendation of civility, and even that gets tossed on the trash heap all too often.

See you at Old Songs, MidChuck! Enjoyed that last one.

Sandy

For those who were asking, campfires are not allowed. However, gas grills and hibachis are allowed, as long as they dont sit directly on the ground. Thats from the horses mouth.

Ayuhp. There's a NEFFA thread around, but it went away and I've never understood the indexing here well enough to find one once it goes under. Someone had posted a list of all mudcatters who were appearing. Maybe some person who understands the way the index works will ressurrect (sp?) it.

Peter.

Hi, Sandy! Thanks for the personal invitation, but it looks like we will not be able to make Old Songs this year. Wouldn't I love to sit around a song swap with you and Caroline. Some other time, I hope.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone will enjoy the festival. The music is VERY good, and I was so surprised to find people I'd never even heard of who made such wonderful music. And it's great fun to meet all the mudcats at the Folk Legacy booth. My regards to all.

On the other hand, we turned up at the last minute by surprise last year . . .

Now that I've had to replace my car (again- I hate the beasts!) I've ended up with a little hatchback. Remembering how much my daughter and I lug to these things I'm going to look into renting a Westphalia camper van if I can find one. I don't want to end up with the other RV's in the faraway lot, so I'll find a way to load up the gear. And I'm still working on that professional day!

Anima, sheepskin robes to sleep on are ok, but if you're planning on bringing a live sheep....
