How exciting! The best gathering ever! Warm sun, good food, beautiful music, good friends. Please start planning. You can come Friday evening if you like. Plenty of sleeping space. Three bathrooms, a big kitchen. Plenty of floor space. The hammock is Max's, should he plan to be there. ;-) That is if he doesn't mind being awakened by ducks, geese, osprey, swans, and maybe a little John Prine floating out over the water.(I've become enamored with John) Just let me know if you need directions. We have a friend on the Asbury Park Press and another on a smaller entertainment paper called Fred's Entertainment. If I get the pub, I'll try for the papers. Plus, I am quite good at making posters and we will post around town, and send out postcards to the Jettyrat crowd who would come to support anyone we support. I thought we would charge $10 entrance fee. The pub would make money from the drinks. I haven't said anything because it might not happen. I should know for sure by Monday. If it does happen, it would be a Sea Bright gig and unlike what most folk performers are quite used to. We have a large folk music contingency in our area. After the first two sets, we would have a jam for other folk performers. It will be fun and profitable for the guys. Let hope. Love, annamill |

We will charge $10 at the door and all that belongs to the guys and they will have a bartender there and the house gets the bar. It is quite a nice room, small, but large enough for a decent crowd. Tonight I will call my friend at the press and my friend at Fred's and get that going. This weekend I will design the posters and postcards to send out. Bill, be sure to bring your CD's to sell, please. I hope other 'catter's can bring instruments and be prepared to jam after the first two sets. This is not a union place and it will be very informal. It will be good. The music heard out on the street will bring people up also. Butch, the owner wanted to have two nights but I felt we may not be able to draw two nights in a row, but I told him we could have other Mudcat shows if he likes. He's very interested. I'd like to associate this show with Mudcat if we can? I would just promote it as Mudcat Cafe members as in "Internet Site Mudcat Cafe's Own ....". Any other suggestions?? How exciting!! Any money goes to the trio, but we'd sure love to have some Mudcatters come and jam. The weather should be perfect for kayaking, fishing, or just layin' out on the hammock. The deck is just made for music. The sound going out over the water is going to be great. Maybe the dolphins will be back by then and come over for a listen. Anna and her hubby are wonderful hosts. People are encouraged to bring food, but Anna provides as well. Her house is on the water of a broad river. It's so close that while sitting on her patio, you would think you were on the water. I have not met a Mudcatter at these gatherings who has not been a decent person. I may not all like everyone, but we do get along. Being a part of these gatherings requires no musical talent. You can play and sing if you want, but you are welcome to just listen or conversate. Anna's gatherings are a great place to meet some people you have only known through cyberspace. I'm not at home, so I can't check my schedule and confirm, but if I can be there I will be there. I put myself in the houses across the river and imagine someone sitting in their kitchen or out on their deck and suddenly hearing beautiful music drifting across from the other side. How jealous I would be ;-) We will have shrimp cocktail of course. I haven't decided yet what else to have. I want to make something special. We will have plenty to drink and eat.
