Subject: Arnold Swarchenegger and Jamie Lee Curti
From: GUEST,Sergio Alguim

Hi !

I have just seen the movie where Arnold Scwarchenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis play together. The first time I saw it, I shot the television off after the "strip-scene" (its not really a strip-scene) when the shooting started, because I thought it was the end of the film, and the rest was pure normal b-o-r-i-n-g shooting-ending.

Well, now I saw it for the second time, and its after the "strip-scene" the movie really takes off. So if you like a kind of mixture between James Bond, Rambo and Arnold, the last 25 minutes of that movie are quite entertaining. Its not realistic at all, but quite funny made, anyway.

Of course its too violant for children under 2 years.

Sergio

You mean the show True Lies?

OH! True Lies with the strip scene still makes me weak in the knees with laughter - but watching Arnold tango with that beautiful asian bad girl is just priceless, too. Loved it, even if the end was ridiculously over the top.

The whole movie is over the top and quite funny in places.

This isn't usually my soap box, but I'm confused as to why this thread is here. No malicious objections, I just clicked on it and felt instantly as if someone had posted it to Mudcat by mistake. Perhaps it's just me.

Schwarz definitely means black in German. Does Negger or Egger mean ploughman? My German is too rusty; or I never learned the word. "Plough" is Pflug.

Egger would be "Harrower". Ploughman is "Pflüger". Mad Maudlin

I know no languages except Mississippian. However, I did hear Arnold say on some talk show that his name meant "Black ploughman".

Heard there may be a sequel upcoming. The further adventures of Boris and Doris. Anybody know if this is right or have any details?

Isn't that another Schwarzenegger movie where he has a name like Bill Murphy or Rob Thompson and we're supposed to suspend belief, forget his accent, and pretend he's just like the guy next door?

It was a good flick, though, and Jamie Lee's striptease almost makes me forget about all those damned Cellular One ads.
