Subject: Looking for Boozing From: davidn@galaxy.net Date: 20 Nov 97 - 10:51 AM Hello. I've been searching for about three years for a recording of "Boozing Bloody Well Boozing" (listed in the DTF db). And then last week I discovered this site so I thought I post a request here. Has anyone seen a recording of ths song or know where I could get one? I'd be very grateful for any info... Thanks. --Daivd Nanasi davidn@galaxy.net |

Subject: RE: Looking for Boozing From: Anne Cormack Date: 23 Nov 97 - 12:37 AM David, the recording I have of "Boozing" was made by Cyril Tawney on a CD entitled "Down the Hatch" ~ songs about Drink and Drinkers produced by Neptune Records, 521 Meanwood Road, LEEDS, LS6 4AW, ENGLAND. I sing in an unaccompanied, three-part harmony group called "Brimstone & Treacle" and we sing this. We've also added a verse (for use in Folk Clubs) Why do those folkies all stand at the back? Boozing etc They don't want to listen, they're here for the crack! Boozing etc Some are on Guinness and some are on beer, They're grand company and they're full of good cheer, But when they start singing, we wish they weren't here!!! Boozing, etc. Hope the CD is still available.....it was recorded betwee May 1993 and February 1994. Regards Anne Cormack |
Subject: RE: Looking for Boozing From: Bob Schwarer Date: 23 Nov 97 - 02:18 PM The recording I have is by John Roberts & Tony Barrand. Record "Live at Holstein's" (Eat Bertha's Mussels) It's a Front Hall LP FHR-031. Don't know if it still available. It is a really nice record, with John Barleycorn, Three Drunken Maidens, & The Man that Waters the Workers Beer also on the disc. Bob S. |
Subject: RE: Looking for Boozing From: David Nanasi Date: 24 Nov 97 - 11:40 AM Thanks, everybody, for all your help. I've written to Neptune Records (thanks Anne), and I'd like to write to the Front Hall people to see if they have a copy of the "Live at Holstein's" record lying around--Bob, do you have any address/e-mail/phone contact for the record company in question? I'd be most appreciative... Many thanks already! --David Nanasi. davidn@galaxy.net |
