Subject: LyrReq "ran like a fire ... From: ivan@mutt.cs.jmu.edu Date: 21 Dec 96 - 09:31 AM I am trying to find lyrics and chords for a song which came up at a jam session the other week. All there recalled the song but could only remember a chorus fragment- "he ran like a fire on the east Texas flat- plains and he ran just for me just for love." Think opening verse has refference to Stewball. Any info which would help me locate this song will be appreciated. Am willing to purchace the sheet music if someone can get me on the right track but know better than to try local outlets with this little info. -Ivan |

Subject: ADD: Just for Love (Bill Staines) From: Peace Date: 09 Aug 06 - 01:13 AM JUST FOR LOVE Bill Staines Many are the stories of all the fine horses That run just for silver and gold Down in Kentucky and all the fine places For owners to have and to hold But I'll tell you of one that was swift like the seasons, One you may never hear of That ran with his heart on the east Texas flat plains, He ran just for me, just for love. Now his eyes were as bright as the sun in the morning, His coat was a proud silver gray A sixteen-hand devil that sounded like thunder As his hooves beat the red Texas clay And he never won nothing but the love of a rider As he raced 'neath the stars far above 'cause he ran with his heart on the east Texas flat plains, he ran just for me, just for love. from Rio do Céu - Artigos - [ Translate this page ] www.riodoceu.com/artigo_2.html |
