dear Aìne, I am looking for the gaelic version of Ar Eirinn ni neosfainn cé hì; does it exist? I listened only an english version by "Dervish". In the same Dervish CD "Live in Palma" I listened two other songs that I'm not able to find:

Maire Mhòr Pheigìn mo Chroi

Can you help me?

I have a version of Peigín agus Peadar I can post later when I have time.
I hve another version of Ar Éirinn Ní Neósfainn Cé Hí.The melody, according to Breandán Breathanach is Tweedside,said to be composed by Rizzio, secratary to Mary Queen of Scots.

Aingeal,

When requesting lyrics for a song it is always best to start a thread with the name in the title. Makes it a lot for the DT folks to find and put them in the database. Also makes it easier to find them when you are looking for them on a Supersearch. I transcribed the lyrics for Máire Mhór for you and put them HERE in a new thread. I did this AFTER I did a supersearch to make sure they were not already transcribed in a thread or the DT. Thanks Micheal Mhor, often I don't manage to find the lyrics on DT (for example I didn't find Pheigín mo chroí because I had seek Peigin as Malcom suggested); anyway I will try to follow your suggestion

Actually, Aingeal/ Angelo, I pointed you to the wrong text; Antaine has posted another version of the song, Peigín 's Peadar, twice in the last year or so, which confused me.  a search for pheigin would have found this thread:  pheigin mo chroi - recorded by dervish,  which contains a transcription (without translation) from the Dervish recording -presumably taken from the sleevenotes of their earlier album Playing With Fire.  I searched to begin with for "peigin" because normally I wouldn't expect the form "pheigin" to appear in a song title unless preceded by, for example -as in the body of the song- "A"; that's the way Dervish have it, though, so maybe I have misunderstood the usage.  Irish Gaelic is not my field...
