Subject: New CD of vintage fiddle music From: Stewie Date: 29 Apr 01 - 09:55 PM I simply draw this to the attention of those who may be interested in such things. The third cab is just off the rank on Marshall Wyatt's Old Hat reissue label: Various Artists 'Folks, He Sure Do Pull Some Bow: Vintage Fiddle Music 1927-1935' Old Hat CD 1003. The CDs issued on this label are superb - the previous 2 were 'Music From the Lost Provinces' (Old-time stringbands from Ashe Co, NC) and 'Violin, Sing the Blues For Me' (Black fiddlers). The perceptive and erudite Mr McCormick of Musical Traditions has an extensive review of the new one here: --Stewie. |
