Subject: Roaring Forties From: Martina Ryan Date: 01 May 01 - 06:03 AM I recently posted a question on Mainbrace, who were one of the highlights for me of the maritime festival in Lancaster, and was delighted with the reponse I got. Another of the highlights of the festival for me was a group called Roaring Forties. In particular, they performed a wonderful one hour piece called Icebound, consisting of readings and songs about a number of whaling boats trapped for an entire Winter by Artic ice. Anyway, I've already found some info on this group (e.g. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/guestlist/forties/), but I was wondering does anyone know if they have any recordings available, or any plans to release anything. Thanks in advance, Martina |
