On the 50th anniversary of the events of 1963, including the march on Washington, DC, NPR's music team put together a channel of "Songs Inspired By the Civil Rights Movement". (This link is to the page, where you'll find an audio link.) "The stream includes many genres of music from across the last five decades that draw direct inspiration from that historic year." The songs are listed at the link.
