Wow! This was the best weekend Lady McMoo and I have had in a long time! What a great gathering and time!

About 14 or 15 of us finally made it to Muenster in Germany from (I think) 5 European countries. First of all congratulations and thanks must go out to Wolfgang who went out of his way to organise things and was the perfect host.

After meeting on the Saturday morning at Wolfgang's we were treated to a fascinating and educational tour of the city. Later we collected our instruments and repaired to a small restaurant where a small back room was prepared for music. After some initial "confusion" with food orders (some people had finished their desserts before others got their starters!) we got to playing. It's almost impossible to pick out any highlights as the whole thing was so good but it was great to hear Bill, Eric, Skipjack and the Jug contingent playing along with Ranks and Letty. Letty, Llanfair, Bill, Eric, Ranks, Cobble, Patrish and Noreen singing (including Letty in Scots Gaelic!)

The jokes and stories were flowing thick and fast and it almost seemed as if we had known one another all our lives.

Sunday was topped of by breakfast and coffee back at Wolfgang's and later a typical Westphalia-style lunch together in town.

Sadly then it was time to part and I think we were all sorry it couldn't go on longer. Certainly I felt very emotional saying my farewells and hope to catch some of the "gang" again shortly.

This, to me, is what Mudcat is all about: goodwill, shared interests and outlooks, fun, good-natured legpulling and great music and craic.

Many thanks to all for making this a weekend truly to remember. I can hardly wait for the next!

Peace to all,

mcmoo (and Lady mcmoo)

P.S. Many photies were taken and will hopefully make an appearance soon.

Perhaps the UK'ers might be able to post from the Cybercafe on the "Pride of Rotterdam" if they can shift the pimply youths playing Doom. On the other hand, this new ship purportedly has 21 bars, so perhaps we better not count on this!

Peace again,

mcmoo

Well, I'm sore, but not from a torrid night sharing the bed with Eric. It was safe sex, as featured by Priscilla Presley and Lesley Neilsen. His sleeping bag was inpenetrable!

It was the best, and it ain't over yet!! A session awaits.\\Skipjack

So much for the thuth, The lying bugger!! Skip and I shared a bed, and we were safe at the sex. But he has not yet had an orgasm from his toes!!!!!!!!! From the top to the tip, his joggers nipple is better and not so crusty! There must be many wondering what was going on but at about 04.30 He proposed after a lovely night and experience s that I never had before. Skip, my love I take back all I said about sheep, Sheep, Sheep !!! Who needs them when you have toes!!!!!

Eric the pilager!!

I'm home too! I can but second mcmoo's account in all respects. It was lovely meeting you all, and I certainly hope to do so again before long (though it's not really likely before next year, sniff!). Mudcat will take on a whole new aspect now that I can put not just faces to Mudcat names (the photo gallery has helped me here a lot already), but living people with their histories and all. (Because music was certainly not the only thing we talked about, and there was a LOT of talking going on!)
Thanks again to all who took the trouble to come, and to Wolfgang and Bill in particular.
However, mcmoo, I am VERY disappointed that our singing of one whole three-verse German folksong (we left out the fourth verse in order not to overtax our listeners) did not get a look-in in your account! It obviously didn't leave a lasting impression ... :-)
(Can't remember how to do hugs, so consider yourselves hugged, all of you!)

Eric tells me that they are moving to the Netherlands because they can get wed there.
We are going into the sunlounge now to make some music, with a grand piano, and at the request of some of the passengers.
Another night without sleep!!! Talk to you soon, Cheers, Bron.

Sorry Suzanne, I didn't realise that was a song. I thought it was just a continuation of the argument with the kitchen staff!!!

Of couse I remember, there were just TOO many highlights to get into one short post!

And it's not true. Cobble's socks didn't smell at all. He assured me he changed them last year!

Well, that's just the start there is much more to tell. Cobble and the toilet step, (A new kids story) Skip and the erogonous toes, (A new adult story) Safe sex in a sleeping bag- A new manual for all. DIVORCE, a new song to be sung with new words and actions, better than the wellie song!!!

It was an excellent weekend, and now at 23.34, we are signing off to go and play in the bar-then fall over later, some from alcohol induced delerium, me and bill from caffine and tannic acid. But at least we will all be well preserved.

So it's goodbye from us, and Oh help-the sheep are coming back!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone

Letty, it was nice to meet you and Noreen will answer your question about such things later, she is a woman of experience I am told-aledgidley (can't spell this time of night)

Hi everyone - Patrish here at Bills house. I had a wonderful time in Germany and on the boat and in the car. Even though we were only in Germany for 24 hours - it felt like we were all old friends who had sung and talked together for so much longer. I can't think what else to put, except to thank Wolfgang for his warm hospitality and to send my love to all.
I don't know how many brain cells I have left - luckily the one that operates the keyboard still works

Hi there,

Made in back in an hour or so (just in time for the closing episode of MASH (dubbed, I watch it to brush up on my German)). I had a great time! Could someone post the names of (some of) the tunes that were played? I want to be able to play more on my fiddle next time! Though my egg would be disappointed... Oh, and mcmoo, you promised me a link to the mandoline builder. Here's a link for Skipjack:

Now, from the point of view of the host:

You buy a dozen rolls, a bit more butter, ham and cheese that usual, let some people use your rooms for their sleeping bags and all you get back is two beautiful CDs, two tapes with music you have looked for for a long while, a bottle of wine, money for your daughter's money-box, two more presents, and the best evening you have had for a long time...

Thanks folks for having been here and greetings from Petra and Sophie.

There are many things from this weekend I will never forget. Here's a tiny bit which for a change has nothing to do with music: When we were in Muenster cathedral the local guide hearing the English voices asked me whether I had already shown my guests the stone from Coventry Cathedral. Now it was about my tenth time in Muenster cathedral and I hadn't seen this stone before. Muenster and Coventry cathedral have both been thorougly destroyed by air raids during the last war. They've swapped stones of the destroyed cathedrals after the war and so there is one big stone from Coventry Cathedral that has been used in the rebuilding of Muenster cathedral and vice versa.

Dear Letty,

Here's a blue clicky thing to Paul Hathway's mandolin information as promised.

I loved your Scots Gaelic songs and beautiful voice and I find it almost impossible to believe you've only been playing the fiddle for a year or so.

It was a great pleasure to meet you and everyone else and we hope to meet up with you ahgain at a future gathering.

All the best

I have finally reached home after a 2 hour wait in Shrewsbury for the train to Welshpool.
I have told the neighbours all about it, and I'll tell it all over again, with embellishments, when Jim gets home.
It has been an unique experience, and, when the participants have had some sleep, there is no doubt that there will be plenty of weirdness to go around.
Bron, eyes still seeing the road when I close them.

Hello everyone, home at last after stopping for lunch at the "in laws" and collecting the kids and all their stuff etc.

Happy birthday mcmoo! you didn't tell us on Saturday, but then you could have done after you got your starter (if you ever got it!!) So belated greetings and we'll see you in a couple of weeks.

Bleary eyed and brain dead I sit here and am still full of it, knowing that I have to start thinking about the work I have to do this evening.

The trip home was great. Cobble has washed his feet, Greg has no doubt looked at the 3rd N page and will start looking for "sexy feet" pages or perhaps others will do so for comparison!!!!!

A great big thankyou to Wolfgang for such excellent organisation, guided tours and making us feel much more than welcome in his home. Another big thankyou to Petra and Sophie for putting up with so many different strangers and sharing their home with us.

Do you know that the staff come on duty to clean the boat at 03.30hrs, I do, I was wandering around having a smoke at that time.I think for us on the boat, the length of the trip seems so much longer as we played into the night, had little sleep and a long time travelling. A week at least packed into about 72 hours

It was an awesome time. Thanks everyone.

Bye for now.

Eric

What a great thing! It is nice to think about Mudcat get togethers in Germany (though not so nice to realise that one couldn't go). I wonder if when Max started this if he ever dreamed he would be spawning trips to Muenster. The story about the stoneswapping between Coventry and Muenster Cathedrals is very moving. I have been in them both, and never dreamed that they would do something so nice. Cheers one up.

A great big thank you to our host Wolfgang for such a marvellous time, I hope we can get you over to England sometime for some British hospitality and even a visit to the renowned JUG.

Are we the first mudcatters to be online from sea, are we the first mudcatters to have access to a grand piano in the middle of the north sea? I should say so, yes.

What a weekend I dont think they were smuggling Cigarettes the other day, I think they were just trying to fill up the vast ammount of space in that floating palace, what a ship.

To all the weekend revellers I have some good photo's to sort out , Including Bill (pick on the melodean player's) Sables playing? you've guessed it a melodean. To everyone involved thanks for a superb 64 hours.

Tired but happy Cobble.

Thank you for the info, Eric!! That boat was amazing, a floating palace. So how come the pianists who are paid to play the Grand piano always do it "their way", and sing it badly? What is that all about?
Think I might go and have a little lie-down and close my eyes for a minute or two now.
Talk to you later, Cheers, Bron.

Eric, now I really am shagged! Why I am still awake at this unlikely hour, after a hard days graft reclaiming bricks from rubble, and a long walk with Mrs S along the Humber bank, is beyond me.

We looked across at the Pride of Rotterdam, and the strange things Wolfgang did to the space/time continuum came back to me. I really couldn't believe we were aboard her so few earth hours before. I know these are the tricks fatigue plays, but can anyone ever have had so much in such an allegedly short time.

We'll let the nitty gritty seep out as them involved recall it, but my overiding desire is to join my many friends in saying a gargantuan thank you to Wolfgang, Petra and little Sophie for providing the co-ordinates for this wonderful collision.

I appreciate Mudcat is only in it's formative years, but I feel (and fervently hope) it will be with us for many more, and I will feel a great swelling of the chest when I let slip I was in Munster for the very first European gathering.

God bless you all, who came and shared. We have a special bond.

Greg

So Greg- you are now convinced that no-one was having a better time than you....?

Some highlights for me of the too-short Gathering, though I keep remembering more:

Driving Skipjack's Alfa Romeo across Holland and Germany with said person playing guitar in the back seat, while Bron and I harmonised in the front
Watching a helicopter land on the deck of the Pride of Rotterdam just the other side of the sun lounge windows, as the sun went down, and speculating whether Max had arrived
Being accosted by a fellow passenger on the return ferry, who asked if we would be playing later as they had enjoyed our music so much on the outward journey
Watching fellow catters posting to the thread from the cybercafé on the boat … so now we can imagine the little grins, and Greg laughing at his own jokes as he types them in
Driving an Alfa Romeo along the autobahn ...or did I mention that?
Surviving on 3 hrs sleep a night because the company and music was so stimulating
Exploring Muenster with Wolfgang as our personal guide, watching new friends converse animatedly while walking

Will stop e'er sleep o'ertakes me at the keyboard. Grateful thanks to {{{{all involved}}}} in making this happen. :0)

In 26 hours I'm starting on a week's holiday in Italy - no Mudcat for a long time. I'll try to do the address list before that.

OK, after 12 hours dead to the world, and every joint in my body complaining about a debauched lifestyle at my time of life (shut up and absorb the dose of painkillers), I have a few "flashes" to share.
Noreen driving an Alfa Romeo on the fast lane of the Autobahn, singing, with Skipjack accompaying on the back seat.
The cathedral, with it's soaring architecture, backwards clock,(and the one in Wolfgang's kitchen- thought I'd had a stroke!), and the stone from Coventry cathedral, lest we forget.
The frustration of the traffic jam when we were already late for the ferry home, finally getting there to be told by a boy soldier that the ferry had gone. Ho ho, Dutch humour, had we got any milk products? Hmmm. We didn't mention the chocolate!!!
Eating fresh asparagus in a square in Munster with friends, laughing and talking. We did SO MUCH talking!!!
The spotty youth in charge of the cyber zone trying to work out why a bunch of ageing folkies were crowded around a monitor shouting "ooooh Noooo" and laughing like drains.
There's lots more, and we'll tell you all about it eventually, under the title "do you remember, when we were in Germany..........................?
Thank you so much Wolfgang. I know the anxieties and frustrations of organising a gathering, and now you can get a good night's sleep!!!
Cheers, Bron.

Probably military humour though: teasing civilians...

Just brewing up a coffee in the office kitchen, trying to keep me'sen awake, and a flashback came into my mind of walking with Andreas, back from the city centre, in the late afternoon sun, through the narrow streets of the new old town. He was talking about a Scottish restaurant in Munster, and I asked what it was called.

Yeah, McDonalds!

He's a dry old stick, that one! I think we were outside the shop named after the Irishman who discovered the Silk Road, Marc O'Polo (That's how it's spelt in Munster!)

Letty, I can't access that porn site at work due to anti-filth filter. Where are you taking me? Loved your fiddle playing. Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore is now Midied on my PC at home, and I finally remembered it was the Corrs first record where it is reprised. What key did you play it in, or at least what was the first note?

One of the tunes you asked the name of is Pinch of Snuff, or Four Seasons (like my pizza that wasn't). It's a killer tune. You have it in your book.

Noreen, I suspect someone is having a better time than me now, but it doesn't trouble me any more! Work sucks!

Skipjack, it's not porn! It's a third nipple site (no pictures, only drawings), maybe your computer filters the word 'nipple'? My God, how prudish English computers can be... I play Shamrock Shore starting with d - a (nice open strings on the fiddle, can't go wrong there). I think it's in G. I promise to memorise Pinch of Snuff for next time!

Les from Hull- we waved to you as we went past on Friday on our way to the ferry- but I think Cobble pointed to the wrong place... so blame him if you didn't see us!

Letty, I can't get 'Pinch of Snuff' out of my head since hearing it played by Skipjack's mobile phone...! I thought your not-porn site (he was joking!) was funny, but did it imply that only men could be so endowed? This is not the case...

(I took my kids to the Scottish restaurant in Bury yesterday, and they appreciated MudGuard's joke. This was after trying to fly a kite with them, on the stillest day we've had for years, even at the top of my hill- lots of cries of Ohhh- Nooooooooo!!!)

I hope this works, no offence meant, and I never said I was any good at poetry or things.

The Ballad of Muenster.

(Roughly to the tune of "Dick Darby".)

We set sail in fine spring time evening.
Though late, we got there in time.
And the cars were packed with belongings.
Of seven, but we could have squeezed nine.

A woman with ankles so pretty,
you could see them, her trousers were short.
Held us up for another five minutes,
for she had control of that port

We sat in the bar all relaxing,
and laughing and talking with glee.
Then somebody said, "I feel seasick."
For the ship had started to sea.

A peaceful and quite easy passage,
no gales, but ales did flow.
Then Skipjack, (for he is quite clever).
Said ,"people I've blagged you a show".

We sat near the old grand piano.
Playing and singing our songs.
We emptied the bar in ten minutes.
I knew it wouldn't take long.

There was noise and a loud cacophony,
and somebody bought us a round.
He said, "can you sing the, "wild rover?"
So we did and we charged him a pound.

As the dawn came up we were still singing,
though some few had turned into bed.
At five thirty I was awoken,
by Cobble banging his head.

With Skipjack, his eyes like red sunsets.
And Bill still needing his tea,
we drove like we were greased lightening,
but we stopped 'cos we needed a wee

Two drinks and a hot toasted sandwich.
Took over an hour to arrive.
We sat there already quite knackered,
with plenty more miles to drive.

Now pat had a bad nervous breakdown,
though we hadn't gone far.
Her feet up and down, like tap dancing.
Every time Bill got quite near a car.

At last we landed in Muenster.
And met Wolfgang and his charming fam'ly.
Old and new friends all gathered,
and thought what fun that this time will be.

There was Wolfgang and Susan and Letty.
The Mcmoo's and giant Mudguard.
There was bodies and 'struments all over.
Between us we left one square yard. (Not metric!)

We walked round the old town of Muenster.
Some old ones now feeling their age.
On the church there were cures for poor playing,
they still hung you up in a cage.

We went to a local bistro place.
To play and eat up our tea.
Said someone, "you'll be here 'till doomsday".
We found out how right it would be.

There was Bill with banjo and Mcmoo
Who played a real mean guitar.
And Susan's real broad Scottish accent,
though we knew that she hadn't come far.

We played and we sung all the evening.
Stopping for something to eat.
That had been ordered a few hours earlier,
It was veggie, they'd run out of meat.

Now Ranks plays a real loud accordion.
A voice like an angel, Noreen.
And Letty she fiddles for Ireland.
And Bron she plays like a queen.

So off we went all ways, and homeward.
To hotels, and flats and to drink.
Talking orgasms and things like third nipples,
and toes that aren't sexy but stink.

Sunday morning arrived with a headache,
some people wanting to die.
But breakfast was really delicious.
Mein Gott, how the time had passed by.

For dinner we eat like Westphalians,
a massive assortment of food.
With coffee and beer and with water,
and everyone thought it was good.

So homeward we set on our journey,
hugging and saying goodbye.
And saying that we'd meet up sometime,
when another year has gone by.

Noreen drove the Alfa Romeo.
Like Schumakker off down the track.
We took another route quicker,
beat them by an hour or more back.

We sat like a bunch of teenagers,
Laughing, and in cyber space
Putting rubbish and really daft info
And watching the smile on Skip's face.

A first for the Mudcat café bunch.
A first time for Europe indeed.
A pimply youth couldn't hack it,
So he laughed at us all 'till he wee'd.

The boat she was new and real pretty.
We sat in the bar and we played.
One woman said, " sack 'im 'on't piano".
A drunk man said "you're IRA".

About two thirty we finished,
for we were all knackered you see.
The days had flashed by in an instant,
in Muesnter for six more and me.

I know that it's long and quite boring,
I've left out the juiciest bits,
About ******* and ******* and ********.
For those stories will have you in fits.

I hope the line separation works, if not some one clever might please split every 4 lines up, so it still makes a bit of sense.

Today has been dull and boring, flat though busy. I've done this instead of my school work and pehaps the punctuation is a bit crap, but I still have boat lag!

Perhaps there could be a groundhog day (like the film).

That could be heaven or hell depending on your point of view.

Cheers

Eric

I went down to the Sloop in Barton last night, to make the few Catters in there wildly jealous, but some arse reversed their rust bucket into Alfa at high velocity, and buggered off. Now I'm spending all day in Leeds trying to get it fixed up.

At least the Sloopers were dead jealous of our junket. Played Going to the Well, Bill, which went down well. Thanks for that one.

Thanks Susan for the addy's. Mrs S has circulated my creck telephone number.

Oh NO, Greg... the lovely Alfa! It survived my driving halfway across Europe at high speed on the wrong side of the road :0) and across the middle of roundabouts, AND Eric's driving three times round the Muenster one way system in the early hours of the morning, only to come to grief in your own backyard! Bummer! Hope you get it fixed up soon- I was looking forward to tearing up Chapel Haddlesey High Street in it....

More snippety memories of the trip:

Playing the grand piano on the high seas (think I may have mentioned that before!) in a pleasant swell, which caused the piano, in its golden boots, to move independently of me- weird sensation. It's ok for those who are attached to their instruments!

Eric experimenting with his favourite positions (for having his hair plaited)

Sophie's delight (now there's a name for a tune, Sam!) at being given her own Mudcat badge, like the rest of us were wearing, and watching her trying to read her name in the logo

Meeting up on the return ferry with a singing duo from Wigan who had been over in Paderborn for the weekend, entertaining the troops. We played together and they entertained us with Saw Doctors songs!

*sigh*

I've wanted to jump in and comment about each post at times, but it's been far better to read and enjoy. Ya' know I too was touched at the story of the cathedral stones and in a way, all of you are the "Cathedral Stones" yourselves........A wondeful meeting and exchange of old friends, many just met, bridging boundaries and history..... a meeting of musical minds.

I'm sure Max never had any of this in mind but what a wonderful by-product. Great pix arrived yesterday from Mooman and one look will tell anyone the tale. My absolute best to all of you.

First, a big thank you to Wolfgang for organizing all this!

Second, a big thank you to all who came for many nice talks, great tunes and great songs!

Thanks, Bill, for the nice badge - it has a place of honour in a most prominent place in my living room!

Myself had some bad experiences during the bike tour I started from Münster. Btw, sorry, Mr. and Lady McMoo, Brussels would have been a bit far off my planned track).

In the youth hostel in Gent (Belgium) my money was stolen from my purse at night (coins, credit card and banking card remained there).

A few days later, when I was just about to leave Calais, I talked to a Frenchmen while one Neo-Nazi was listening. He must have noticed from my bad French that I am not French, and he whistled for his friends who attacked me with baseball bats - luckily only one stroke hit me, and it hit me only lightly, just a little hematome on my left arm - I was able to flee on my bike into the safety of a group of police officers.

Still, I did not like the experience and decided to break off the tour - I did not want to stay in a country where I am in the permanent danger of serious attacks... (there were some other factors that made me go home as well, e.g. my tooth started to hurt once again...)

Now, back to the Münster Gathering, which was a much better experience! I loved meeting all of you MudCatters (and Petra and little Sophie as well!)

During the evening I had written a verse (btw, great one, Eric!) about our weird moments with the service and bill in the restaurant, later I added a verse or two. Here it goes (tune should be obvious):
-------------------
In Münster's fair city

In Münster's fair city
I saw a sight that was pretty,
I first set my eyes on Mudcatters galore,
As they sang more than one song
With no single chord wrong,
List'ning was a big joy,
A very big joy.

In Münster's fair city
I met Wolfgang and Letty,
I first saw Susanne and Evi and Ranks,
Patricia and Richard, called McMoo,
Noreen, Bill and Patrish I saw too,
Eric and Cobble and Greg
And Bron once again.

In Münster's fair city
Where the service is shitty,
I first set my eyes on a landlord so bad.
What we ordered, came never,
What we got, took forever,
He cried pay it without bill,
And pay it right now.

In Münster's fair city
Where Wolfgang lives in a flat-ee
We had very much fun there and at the pub
Well organized was the meeting
Though the Italian tried cheating,
Thanks to Wolfgang and Susan
For sorting him out.

-----

Mudguard

Im sorry to hear about your bad time on your cycling holiday. What were the French police doing while you were being attacked? What a pitty you did'nt sail from Holland to Hull and join us at the gathering, you would have been very welcome. you seem to have met, a few of the local idiots and mindless fool's on your trip. I'm sorry the holiday was spoilt, next year try to get over to see us over here, you will be most welcome.

Cobble.

Andy, my friend, that is absolutely terrifying. There are hateful eejits everywhere, it's not limited by national boundary.

Come over to your friends in Engeland, and let us restore your faith in humanity.

Skipjack

Just posted another pic on the Yahoo page (see link above), this is one of Cobble's, of the travelling musicians sailing the Pride of Rotterdam : have a look!
Note : the space for typing in names in the caption box is limited. This is the only reason for Eric the Viking being described as Eric TV, honestly, despite the sex-change rumours....)

Andreas, so sorry to hear of your bad experiences. I can't imagine anyone considering attacking you, for many reasons! Don't let it put you off the rest of humanity, please. We'll raise a glass (or two) to you at the Yorkshire Gathering.

Sorry to hear about your nasty experience Andreas. As someone said earlier...there are complete eejits and fools everywhere. So sorry it broke off your tour.

It was great to meet you in Munster. What a great weekend that was

Take care for now,

Mudguard, I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. There is a rally in York on 23rd of June. Over 3000 cyclists will be there for the weekend.

You know not all of us are animals like those you met. The song is excellent and should go in the mudcat song book.

have some happy cycling-Holland is good. England is good and there is much to see.

take care

Best wishes

Eric

Andy!! what a horrible experience for you!!! I bet the guys weren't very tall.....there is something about us tall people, particularly the gentle ones, that brings out the worst in a few people of less than average stature. They start thinking that they have something to prove, and it's us that have to suffer.
I hope you recover soon. It was so good to see you again, and I love your song.
Cheers, Bron.

Hey, hang on a minute Bron-I'm only a short arse and I'm not aggressive, never picked on anyone for their size, weight, or height, or any thing else for that matter, except when playing rugby and that's because they had the ball.

Any more of this and I'll stand on a chair and punch you on the nose!! (Only jesting)

Shame you never got to Yorkshire. Bye allEric.

ps was it ONLY 2 weeks ago we set off!!!!!

I did say that there are a FEW people like that. The vast majority are nice people, particularly you, Eric!!
At this time, two weeks ago, we were making music by the grand piano!!
Eeeee, it WERE grand!!!!!!

So am I, Bron! To all those able to go - should be nearly as good as the Muenster gathering!

Andreas, I hope you've recovered from all your misfortunes. What an awful thing to happen! Sorry to hear you cut your holiday short, but your humour seems to be still intact, going by the lyrics. Great song, thank you!

And before I forget - safe journey to Bill and his fellow suspects for the American tour! Should be great, going by the thread!

And now I'll go and have a look at Noreen's latest photo.

Andreas,

thanks for the follow-up, but what a horrible follow-up it was. It takes some time to recover completely from such an experience and to regain trust in fellow humans. The nasty ones are only an extremely tiny minority,...

I'd love to plan a couple of weeks holiday in Wolfgang's flat, just to listen to his wonderful music collection.... (make that a month...!)

Sounds like a great time was had by all.

Not many people know this little fact. I was born in Germany in the town of Bad Reichenhall. It's in southern Germany near the Austrian border.

Greg, what's this? Do you mean the next Anglo-German Mudcat gathering is going to take place in Moo country? All right, just let me have that date in good time!

Noreen, thanks for putting the photos up. I'm going to look at the new ones in a minute. Any idea what's happened to Brian's extensive collection?

OK, lets make in a ton up! (100)

Yes I have conferred with she-who-must-be obeyed and we are happy to host the next Euro-Mudgathering here in Moo Land. Depending on numbers we may well have the space at Moo Towers but I'm thinking of conferring with the local "commune" who have recently gone all arty and musical to see whether they might let us use a slightly bigger performing space in the spirit of "European togetherness". Worth a try I think.

We have plently of floor space a couple of spare beds and maybe room for a couple of tents if necessary. But there's plently of time for planning yet.

So if it's OK with you all....Moo Land next year?

Love to all

mooman (TAFKAM - Skip, I presume you mean p*** artist!)

I shall see what I can do to persuade Brian to part with his extensive collection... he took quite a few of us playing on the boat going over, which I'd like to see (yes, playing around the grand piano- did I tell you about that? hee hee)

Looking forward to seeing you all,

You mean saying Grace might have improved the service, Skip? We certainly had time to peruse the menu (not that it bore much relation to what was eventually available) but the company more than made up for that... :0)
