Subject: RE: folk music in Bridgenorth/Shropshire From: KitKat Date: 09 May 01 - 08:15 AM It's not my stamping ground any longer, but the folk club at 'The Woodman' in Kingswinford (Fridays) always used to be the best in the West Midlands. Hope it helps. Pat |
Subject: RE: folk music in Bridgenorth/Shropshire From: John J Date: 09 May 01 - 11:45 AM I've been to a pub called the Three Horseshoes just a couple or three of miles South of Bridgenorth where there was some rather good singing going on. It was 5-6 years ago and things change, so more local investigation is called for. Good luck with your search! John |

Subject: RE: folk music in Bridgenorth/Shropshire From: Dave the Gnome Date: 10 May 01 - 06:47 PM Sunday nights - folk programme on local radio around Shropshire. Sorry - can't help with FM numbers as I only ever find it on auto-search when I am travelling past there! Anyhow, the presenters, Genevieve and (I think) Alan called in our club a couple of weeks back. Lovely people and very knowledgeable on the local folk scene. Try an internet search (Suggest ask.co.uk) about Shropshire local radio - you may find some good stuff. Cheers DtG |

Subject: RE: folk music in Bridgenorth/Shropshire From: John J Date: 11 May 01 - 12:40 PM Some years ago ( a lot of years ago??) The Plough on Wenlock Edge used to have a folk night. It was such a long time ago that the place has probably turned plastic now, but it could be worth a try. John |
