Just got this from the Eliza Carthy mailing list and thought it might interest some:

See Eliza Carthy performing LIVE from the Kennedy Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, May 9th!

Just log on to www.elizacarthy.com/webcast.html at 6:00PM EST. It's your chance to see Eliza, from the Waterson-Carthy family, at the forefront of the worldwide folk movement...at the Kennedy Center...LIVE!

The webcast will be available for viewing after the live performance on demand, anytime you'd like to hear it. And the evening before (May 8th, last night as I write this) was a Webcast by Waterson:Carthy, a more traditional program, with her parents Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, and two other blokes names Tim and Ben, whose last names I didn't catch. (I was at the Millennium Stage live to see them last night, and I'm about to go off now to see the performance mentioned above.)

The archived programs are available at http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/archive.html, or click here. Then search for "Carthy."

It's excellent.

Thanks again

It's on now. Both audio and video, and she just said they won't be doing any traditional songs.

That is a little bitty guitar!

I was very pleased to catch the whole family live the other night. While there's absolutely no practical difference from the archived version (except that in the archived version you can Pause and repeat) it felt different to hear them live. They never d get to Florida otherwise. The Millennium Stage is a terriffic idea - nightly interesting performances and all archived & free webcast. So many worth hearing - or even just checking out. Superb!
