Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: Nemesis Date: 10 May 01 - 11:54 AM A few years ago (oh, actually a few centuries ago)working at Gatwick, Laker was running a "Skytrain" to Kingston< Jamaica. Also, just opened was a mono-rail to the North terminal. Sweet little elderly West Indian couple - checked in for the flight. Check in clerk said "Now, get the "train". Yes, (and this is true - I was working in Ground Ops) they were eventually found at East Croydon, having been sold a ticket by British Rail to Kingston, looking for the "train to Jamaica". Have a good gig!! |

Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: InOBU Date: 10 May 01 - 07:16 PM English Jon... A tip from Lorcan, the plug-o-matic (thanks again Spaw)... A good shameless plug should run like this... SORCHA DORCHA! PLAYS AT THE CELTIC FESTIVAL - MUSEUM VILLAGE... MAY 13 1 - 2 AND 4 - 5! RT. 17m MONROE NEW YORK... See ol' skin... you have to throw all the English reserve aside and get out there and bare the information, all the information... Good luck, brother... |

Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 10 May 01 - 07:25 PM I opened this assuming it would be one of your threads, Larry (in One Big Union). Any more of this encroachment on your territory, and Max is going to have to take Jon on one side for a few well chosen words..... |
Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: catspaw49 Date: 10 May 01 - 08:24 PM Jon, ya' gotta' take Larry's advice.....And don't you just love how his example just happened to be about Sorcha Dorcha? The "Plug-O-Matic" strikes again!!!! (But I tell you folks, if you haven't heard S-D either live or on CD, you are really missing something) GOOD LUCK JON.....And plug away here anytime!!! Spaw |

Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 10 May 01 - 09:02 PM English Jon, good luck and break a finger from Irish Seamus. Who says the English and Irish can't get along? By the way, Larry really is shameless when it comes to plugging his great band. You would never catch me mentioning that I'm performing in Godfrey Daniels, 7 east 4th St. Bethlehem, PA, tomorrow night at 7:30 and 9:30. That would be tacky. All the best, Jon and Larry. seamus |
Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: catspaw49 Date: 10 May 01 - 09:43 PM Ya' know Seamus, it would have been really bad if you had provided a link to Godfrey Daniels and suggested that we scroll down to the 11th. That would have been really bad. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: Seamus Kennedy Date: 11 May 01 - 01:33 AM 'Spaw, you know that I leave the really bad stuff to you and Larry, and Clinton and Kendall. I would never dream of some of the neat stuff you guys do. OK, when Rick Fielding learns how to do blue clickies, I'll learntoo. All the best. Seamus |

Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: Sarah the flute Date: 11 May 01 - 03:42 AM I'm close to Kingston (the one on the Thames). Can you say more about your gig. It's practise nite for our band unfortunately but depending on the time we might all be able to pop in! |
Subject: RE: Shameless Plug From: English Jon Date: 11 May 01 - 08:04 AM Don't know much about it myself! I'm assuming that it's about 8.30 onwards, I'll probably start playing about 9 ish. I know they want two 40 minute sets from me, so there may well be floor spots! Walrus/Sarah the Flute Would be great to see you there! Thanks for the plugging advice fellas... "The Magnificent Mr Loomes, will be presenting an evening of traditional music for your listening pleasure, accompanying himself upon his Guitar, at the White Horse hostelry at Kingston-upon Thames. Dress optional." Nope. Not quite there yet, is it? ;) EJ
