The chorus, at least, appears to be adapted from Muldoon, The Solid Man/I'll lay you doon, love .

Regards

Come in, come in I'll do the best I can
Come in, come in bring your whole bloody clan
Take it slow and easy and I'll shake you by the hand
Sit you down I'll treat you decent, I'm an Irishman

I've traveled East, I've traveled West, I've roamed from town to town
I've cut the harvest down in Clare, met people of renown
Where ever I went the welcome mat was always waiting me'
So fill your glass along with us and old Ireland free

Come in, come in I'll do the best I can
Come in, come in bring your whole bloody clan
Take it slow and easy and I'll shake you by the hand
Sit you down I'll treat you decent, I'm an Irishman

When I am gone some other place and my memories going dim
Raise your glass and join the toast, invite the colleens in
Then think about the good old times and you'll remember me
When good old songs were roaring out and the porter flowing free

Come in, come in I'll do the best I can
Come in, come in bring your whole bloody clan
Take it slow and easy and I'll shake you by the hand
Sit you down I'll treat you decent, I'm an Irishman

Well, I hit the wrong button--

I've travelled east. I've travelled west. I've roamed from town to town.
I've (put the harvest down in Clare) people up and down.
Wherever I went, the welcome mat was always waiting me.
So fill your glass along with us and sing "All Ireland's Free"

--chorus which you have

When (I've gone from mother land) my memory’s growing dim,
So fill your glass and drink a toast, invite the colleens in.
Just think about the good old times and you'll remember me
When good old songs are pouring out and porter flowing free.

I put the parts of the song I really couldn't hear well in
(). I hopeful someone can fill in the blanks and make
corrections. The IR's sing chorus-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus.

This may get you started and someone else with a better ear than I or with the words in print can make corrections. I listen a few times to the version from the IR's and come up with two verses: I've travelled east, I've travelled west

Come in, come in, we'll do the best we can.
Come in, come in, bring your whole bloody clan.
Take it slow and easy and I'll take you by the hand.
Sit you down, I'll treat you decent. I'm an Irishman.

If there's more, I don't know it. Seems to me that if you sing this twice and then repeat:

"Sit you down, I'll treat you decent. I'm an Irishman."

it might be a good intro to your set.

any one know the lyrics for the irish rover's number that starts as indicated? it was on their first album, and several tries on the digitrad database didn't find anything; I'm in Texas getting ready to go to play at a festival in two days, and we thought we'd try to add this to our repertoire.
