There is one written by Ted Amphlett - never met the guy but 'tis sung in Worcestershire occasionally
laconic humour would best describe it
"My native roots are cankered, all along Evesham's green Vale"
then there is the line about the cider houses... "at various adresses that nobody talks about!"
I did have the words once but lost them. I do know a man who sings them and might bump into him
If & when I will post here
hten there is the incantation for the "Bush burning" ceremony that Dave Jones used to do on New Years Eve in his orchard at Putley
I have his widows e-mail so will try to get that
Westons Cider in Much Marcle might be able to help.
and the cider museum in Hereford should have a few
Long Live Cider. Long Live My Brain
tick one of the above

Of course, you could always go to the Digitrad Lyrics Search, above and key in cider, you'll find many hits.

Art Thieme has a great one on one of his tapes, for the life of me I cannot remember the name nor find it in the threads, and I know I talked about it in one of them. I hope he sees this thread and posts the name of it here. I didn't see it in the DT, either, at least not searching with "cider" and/or "cider mill."

I don't think you can beat Dickens Cider. Every time I hear that front porch discussion from the boys in Maine it breaks me up.

On second thoughts, that stuff will probably give you the DTs. If you put the word 'cider' (without quote marks) in the Digitrad and Forum Search box on the main forum page, you will have numerous 'hits' in the DT and the forum.

Cheers, Stewie.

There's this one in the DT:

Dead Dog Scrumpy

I'm looking for songs about (apple) cider, either hard or sweet. Songs about drinking cider would be fine, but about making cider would be even better. Does anyone know of any? Thanks. Joan
