how about come near at your peril, Canadian Wolf. (Newfoundland anti-confederation song..) And maybe someome mentioned it but there is a song I have seen lyrics for about a woman who goes to a shindig in a sleigh and doesnt want to wear a coat..I think she died of cold and maybe the wolves ate her. Must be some Russian ones. How about this (from poor memory) by Kipling.

Dale Connely is the host of the Morning Program out of St Paul, MN. the program goes out over the Minnesota Public Radio network. Dale has written a lot of clever parodies and radio humor bits over the years. His assistant is Tom Keith (aka "Jim Ed Poole") who is a master of radio sound effects and accents. A kind of New Age wolf song is "Wolf-Tell Me Your Name" by Carolyn McDade & the Singers of the Sacred Web. There's a lot of miscellaneous howling on the CD followed by harmonious singing, with no obvious gnashing of teeth as a final confrontation as wolves meet(!) people.

Thanks for the american indian page, Karen, I've jotted down a couple of the chants for the choir to have a look at. Unfortunately I don't think the idea is to have songs where the wolves are being nasty to people, so I don't think I'll be able to use any of the songs people have been kind enough to dig out for me! John Hartford's "Wolves A-Hollerin'". I think Hills and Mangsen also recorded it as "Wolves A-Howling'".

I see a wolf ate my cookie. Damn that Red Riding Hood wandering through the woods, feeding the animals, and causing them to lose their fear of humans.

I put wolf and then wolves in the white DT and Forum search box and came up with a lot of stuff. Of course, I got Kate Wolf and Wolf Tone, but there is a lot there to sift through. Oh, and that was 2 searches, not one.

My choir ( Vox Magicka ) are singing a pagan conference in Crawley ( just out side London ) with a pack of wolves. Honest ! How ever we would like some songs about wolves to sing there. So far all we have is Of Wolf And Man by Metallica. Any suggestions?
