for those of you who are seeking and those who might like to seek for tunes missing from the DT and help get them into shape for submission:

The "Missing Tunes" list has had some massive updates today - aside from the dozen or so tunes located and submitted this week (4 today alone!!!!) - it has also had 275 or so tunes marked by people who think they have the tunes in their songbooks and are willing to work at transcribing them.

Anyone who wants an updated "missing tunes" list may PM me with an e-mail address or e-mail me (lpola#edutech.org).

A "Found tunes" list is also available for anyone who would like.

Have no idea what I'm talking about?

due to vacations, "real life", etc... I am currently about 75 or so songs behind on listing those tunes "found". However - the "missing tune file" is up to date. Available on request (PM to me (MMario)with an e-mail address and/or e-mail [e-mail]).

Joe - I'm about 100 or so behind sending to you...beware.

Since we now have a brand spanking new fresh database - I am in the process of comparing and sorting and re-numbering etc.

I will have a new "missing tunes list" probably by the end of the week.

trivia - I find 4568 songs without tunes in the spring '02 DT -

but I am confident that will be below 3000 once I compile the list of those tunes already submitted.

in the first 510 of the list 56% have already been submitted.

And please, everyone; do be sure that the tune you send in does actually belong to that particular song, and that you say exactly where you got it.

I've gone through the first 2571 "missing tunes" from the Spring '02 DT; so far 755 of them have already been submitted - about 29 %

further updates as I get it done!

I'm going through double checking now - but as you can imagine - with 3000 or so entries my eyes keep crossing - especially since the two lists didn't alphabetize the same way *grin*

Old Possum has being doing an incredible amount of work - cross checking the "missing" list against the old tune search threads and the mudcat midi's and alan's midi page. If I ever meet him face to face I may well fall down and worship at his feet!
