my son is in the 5th class ( age 11), and he came home on Thursday to ask me if I had ever heard of Bob Dylan!!!!!!! I politely said yes I have quite a few of his LPs. Then he said they were learning one of his songs. Oh great I said anad asked which one.....Blowing in the wind. But the bit that is really good is that they are learning it in German because we live in Switzerland!! Nice though! Brigid

I'm in northern Vermont, close enough to get the show over the air. It was a great show Mike.

I've just hung a note on my monitor, Mike, so I can remember to tune in. I'm sure I will enjoy it greatly. Thanks for letting us know.

Peter,

I think it'll be a lot of fun.

BTW, it was nice meeting you, however briefly, when I was at Rick's show in Toronto a few week ago.

Tomorrow is Bob Dylan's 60th birthday so I'll be devoting all three hours of Folk Roots/Folk Branches to Dylan's songs.

In 1999, writing in Sing Out! Magazine, I noted that Bob Dylan redefined "how we make, listen to, and think about folk music, popular music and rock 'n' roll, and how those strands collide, intersect and combine with each other." Because this week's edition of Folk Roots/Folk Branches falls on Dylan's 60th birthday, we'll mark the occasion with an entire show devoted to the songs of this most-influential artist.

We'll hear many of Dylan's own recordings as well as versions of his songs performed by generations of other artists.

The show airs tomorrow (Thursday May 24) from 9:00-noon on CKUT, 90.3 FM in Montreal or in RealAudio from the Folk Roots/Folk Branches website.
