Subject: Ordering a book in US from Italy

I'm quite desperately searching for the book "Journey to Nowhere - The Saga of the New Underclass", by Dale Maharidge, Hyperion, New York 1985. Do any of you know if there's some way to obtain here from Italy by paying with an International Money Order? (I have no credit card).
A lot of results if I search for that title, but just few booksellers, none of the ones I looked sold books outside the U.S. or they didn't accept IMO.
Any help appreciated. (Well, maybe the best thing would be someone buying the book in the US, sending it to me, and me paying him with an IMO...)

Lots of USA choices on www.abebooks.com, including paper back for about $10.

Oops! My mind was out of gear. I take it you are in Italy. Try an American Express office. I think they can help.

Fedele, there are many copies available ranging in price from $3.95 on up to over $20.00.

A lot of places will allow you to pay through a PayPal Account, which is easy to set up.

If you don't want to do that, I would be more than happy to purchase a copy for you and send it over. Please just let me know how much you want to spend, whether you want paperback or hardback, etc. For a good idea of what is available go to Amazon.com or, Bookfinder.com and do a search on that title.

Hope that helps,

kat

I use American Express international Money orders from my bank for a number of my purchases. I imagine that they also are available at American Express offices throughout Europe.

Kat, I love you! ;-)))
Thank you very much. I'll manage the thing this weekend - I should be studying now. Thank you very much! I knew I could find some help here on the Mudcat.

*smile* You are welcome, Fedele. If you go to the Quick Links box and choose Reset Cookie, then you can send me the details in a Personal Message, from your Personal Page. Don't forget, I will need your mailing address.

My niece and her family just moved back to the States, after living in Italy for over 5 years. They were stationed at Aviano. My sister just visited them this Spring, before they left. She also went over previously and spent most of the summer exploring Italy with them. She LOVES Venice!

All the best,

kat
