Townes Van Zant tribute recorded in 1997.

Featuring,Guy Clark,Peter Rowan,Steve Earle,Nanci Griffith,John T.Van Zant(son),Willie Nelson,Emmylou Harris,Rodney Crowell,Lyle Lovitt & Jack Clement.

I'm pretty sure I saw some of this one before,but i'll be sure to tape it this time. (Hope the t'storms hold off)

I really admired Towne's songwriting ability.

Will it be archived and available anywhere on the net? I remember seeing the man at Cambridge. Never heard of him, and no idea who he might be when I wandered into earshot, and I was knocked out by him.

It was a great show, just finished watching and mus say it was terrific. I was especially moved watching Nancy Griffith letting the tears run while Steve Earle sang his tribute song Ft Worth Blues. Mudjack

Unfortunately, we don't get Austin City Limits here in Nova Scotia on our PBS channel (Boston). GRRRRR!

Darn. I just saw this and have now missed it. I wonder if our local station will be airing it again today. Sometimes they do that. Townes Van Zant is one of my all-time favorite songwriters and I've just borrowed a CD from a friend so I can learn the song about "Raton," which is just up the highway from where I lived in New Mexico for many years.

What a beautiful, melancholy spirit.
