Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Junior Wells From: wysiwyg Date: 03 Jun 01 - 04:50 AM Does "Snatch It Back and Hold It" have anything to do with the wind? There is a spiritual about that. Possibly related? ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Junior Wells From: Sorcha Date: 03 Jun 01 - 10:08 AM No lyrics, but an MP3 here. Maybe you could get the lyrics from it. Also, Lyrics for a blues song, "Snatchn' it Back" are here, at Harry's Blues, but I suspect it is not what you are looking for. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Junior Wells From: Jim Dixon Date: 18 Apr 02 - 08:55 AM "Snatch It Back and Hold It" is indeed the correct title of a song by Junior Wells. It was recorded by Junior Wells on "Hoodoo Man Blues," 1965; by Aron Burton on "Aron Burton Live," 1996; and by James Solberg on "See That My Grave is Kept Clean," 1995. Junior Wells' recording is also on the compilation album, "40th Anniversary Blues," 1993; on the Laserlight compilation CD "Midnight Blues," 1994; on the 5-CD Laserlight compilation "Blues Box," 1994. All this information comes from AMG. CDNOW has a sound sample, but these are the only lyrics I heard there:
"Everybody tells me, I'm not doing too bad, baby. |
Subject: Lyr Add: SNATCH IT BACK AND HOLD IT From: Jim Dixon Date: 24 Jan 12 - 08:06 AM SNATCH IT BACK AND HOLD IT Written by Amos Blakemore As sung by Junior Wells' Chicago Blues Band on "Hoodoo Man Blues" (1965) Snatch it back and hold it, Baby, one more time. I ain't doin' too bad, babe. I got you on my mind. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! You havin' a darn good time. Somebody he'p me. I can't he'p myself. Somebody's got to he'p me, 'Cause I can't he'p myself. I'm not doin' too bad, baby. You know I ain't got no brand-new bag. Somebody he'p me. I can't he'p myself. Somebody better he'p me, 'Cause I can't he'p myself. I ain't doin' too bad, baby, And I ain't got no brand-new bag. Snatch it back and hold it. I want to tell you where it's at. All the kids in the neighborhood, They doin' a brand-new dance. Snatch it back and hold it. I want to show you where it's at. Said-a one more time. It's a one more time. Hey, hey, hey, hey! Baby, one more time. All the kids in the neighborhood, They know just where it's at. Snatch it back and hold it. Snatch it back and hold it. Hey, hey, hey, hey! Snatch it back and hold it. Said-a hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Hey! |
