As the other thread was over 100 posts, I thought I'd start this one. I included all of the boys, since that's what the previous thread wound up being about. (Feel free to start other threads if you'd like.)

Here's the previous thread.

As we left our intrepid musicians, they had played a session in the Press Room and a concert in Brunswick Maine. People are still sorting the socks out at both locations. The rest of the itinerary, stolen from another thread, is:

THEIR ITINERARY:
Sunday, June 3rd, Keene, NH,
Monday, June 4th, Toronto Canada for Rick Fielding's Radio Show on CIUT 89.5 FM
Monday, June 4th, The Queens Hotel, an English Pub in Toronto (Unconfirmed)
Tuesday, June 5th, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Thursday, June 7th, Whispering Hills, Stroudsburg, PA
Sunday, June 10th, Seabright, New Jersey
Tuesday, June 12th, West Chester, PA, Mudcat Radio Show (Available on the Internet)
Wednesday, June 13th, Keene NH, schools

Recordings:
"Bill Sables" WRS 027 recorded in 1970
"The Sweet River Aire" Patchwork Records CD0003. Bill, Sam, Ian, with Graham Pirt.
"Halfway to Wrexham" Patchwork Records CD0004. Bill and Sam
"Bridging the Gap" Patchwork Records CD0007. Bill, Sam, and Ian
"Before the Beard Turned Grey" re-mix of the 1970 Album. Bill with Stan Gee
"422. One" Fellside Recordings FECD153. Sam and Ian

The boys left Brunswick, Maine, at 11:30 AM on the dot. They are headed for Keene, NH. I expect they will see heavy traffic as they are traveling with the flow of weekend and summer tourist traffic.

The church reimbursed us for the room rental because of the flood. They paid us this morning and then we sent the boys on their way.

Sorry to see them go but I will be watching this thread like a hawk.

Good luck, guys, and God speed.

Bill, I've just spotted a remix of some 1970 stuff early in this thread, that you did with Stan Gee. Was that the Stan Gee (now the late Stan Gee) from Stockport in Cheshire? Hope you're all well.

From: Gill - Sam's mum

Great to hear everyone's news. Hi Sam - the music and company sounds even better than you'd ever hoped. It feels as though you are safe with friends and having a good time all of you! I wish I'd taken more notice of this e-mail thing before you went - our 'night before - crash course' has got me started but I feel oh so frustrated and want to do more. What are attachments? I still don't know how to get to a 'pm' but I'm sure you showed me. Never mind - I'm now hooked so will muddle through and learn on the hoof. When you get back I'll be an expert - or raving mad!

Naemonson - thank you so much for your kind hospitality looking after our trio. I hope Sam made his bed and did the washing up (just like he does at home??*)

Jeri - thanks for starting a new thread. It saves me reading all 100 each time as I felt sort of compelled to do! I would think that it will be back up to 100 again soon though.

Jools - hi! Fancy meeting you here:=) (I learned that from Sam's big brother Ben who said exclamation marks are not cool - !) Yes, we know our Sam is pretty nifty with the occasional buck and wing and wagon wheel.

Bye for now all. Hope Keene survives :=)

Gill, at the top of the lyrics, forum and chat page...u know, the one where you click on the thread title to read these.....well, just above, there is a little box which says "you have X messages....click on that and they are pm's.

There's one there from me to you.

ALso, if you see the title at the top of the page:

The Mudcat cafe

Lyrics, forum and chat, Radio, personal pages, e musine etc.....

Well, click on personal pages.....

THe second box of stuff down says messages.

That'll have all sam's pm's on it

In tiny writing under that there is send a message archive and something else

Click on send a message. Type the name of the person you want to write to in the box, click go...it'll then bring up that name in blue i think, well, click on it anyway. U get the text box like on email to write in and press send message...sounds confusing when i type it but it's really simple....

I'll give you a ring, and give you a lesson over the phone......

I finally got home (in NH -- near Jeri) at 10:20 this morning -- and it was -- again! -- pouring in Brunswick when I left.

Last night's concert was grand! And the flood in the community room was nothin' compared to Winterbright's backyard (which needed to be, ah, "navigated" to and from her door).

Two nights of too much fun and not enough sleep. 31/2 hour drive to get to Belfast, ME (for something completely different) then another hour and a half in pouring rain to get to Brunswick in time for dinner & concert and another coupla hours on the road this morning, I read this thread with delight but was too tired to post this morning. Didn't intend to take a nap, but fell asleep in the middle of "Rosalee Goes Shopping." Dunno if I'm awake enough now to write this.

Do these guys ever stop making music?!? (Well, maybe long enough to eat!) Wish we'd had more time to talk, but it was well worth my convoluted drive to see them in a concert setting. Great musicians whether in the living room, the pub or on stage! Hear 'em! And if you can't get to see them, buy the CDs!

Hi All
We are safe and well in Keene, New Hampshire, at Animaterra's house. Just re-opened the box of Yorkshire Tea bags! Looking forward to the gig tonight,...just had a great jam session in the front room too!

Will update you after the gig!

Glad you have arrived safely, if we had known that Animaterra liked Yorkshire Teas so much, we would have sent a bigger box !

We have found three more cd's in Ian's bedroom, do you want these sending?

Good luck at the Coffee House,

Hi! Sounds like the guys are having a really grand time. The schedule states that they will be in Sea Bright on June 10th, but the gig I set up for them is on June 9th and I expect them at my house, from former postings, on Friday, the 8th. I sure hope nothing has changed, because an awful lot of people will be angry with me. We have posters up all over town and the response has been great. I just hope the room is large enough to hold everyone.

I'm looking forward to seeing them. Jeri, why don't you bring that cheese cake down to my place??

Love, Annamill

That's OK ann.....I got left off altogether! Unfortunately, I heard from Mick last night and he's gotten cancelled out on his meeting, so he won't be here. Now I know that Bill eats like a bird, but I'm expecting Sam and Ian to have BIG appetites or we're gonna' have a lot of leftover ribs, brats, beans, and the like!

Sounds like all is going well, hope to hear when they get to Rick's. Remember, they'll be on his show tonite at 7 PM Mudcat time (Eastern). Also a report from Allison would be nice......(ahem).......

Am I the only one here (Mudcat that is) that won't get to hear them play? Nearest I got was the Pirt's kitchen and even then I wasn't allowed in the same room as the Accordian lesson!
When are they on Mudcat Radio? I can listen to that anytime afterwards right?

I can help out a little on a report on the Keene performance. Here are the relevant line from an email Allison sent me this morning:

"...the lads are here- I'm trying to get them up now and get them off to Toronto- they did say they wanted to be gone by 7.
We had a great evening; small but very responsive audience. What a trio!
And some of the nicest lads - but of course, they're Mudcatters!..."

And apparently they spilled the beans to her on what we saw on Friday night when I thought they meant to keep it quiet.

Brett, my lips are sealed!
I'm still glowing from the warmth of three wonderful fellows. Sometimes I think Bill exemplefies the best of what the Mudcat has to offer, and he draws other warm and wonderful people to him- these young men give me great hope for the future. Some day when we're old and feeble, living together in Mudcat Acres, we'll be proud to say "we knew them when..."

From Gill - Sam's mum

Hi all, it's great catching up with what's been happening. I've not been able to get into Mudcat for nearly 2 days so there has been loads of great things for me to read. So far so good - I've finally found a PM - wow :=)) Thank you JeZaBel. It would be good to send a PM but nothing has become too clear on that one yet - I'm still trying though. I could do with a full week off work to really get to grips with this www thing - this is day 5 and I'm getting by - just!

Sam - pity you left your dance shoes in England but it sound as though you're managing somehow. Amazing what some lively music can do to your feet!

I hope you are eating plenty and keeping your energy levels up. Did I hear someone say it was you that eats like a bird? Surely not . . . I also hope you have managed to find Canada somehow. Our shared (impossible) sense of direction perhaps gave you a few complications? I hope Bill and Ian have enjoyed going round in circles!

Keep on having fun - Gill

Hi Gill......

The radio show was excellent and I bet they're having a fine time at Hugh's. Tomorrow they're visiting Niagra Falls and the boys should both really enjoy it. It may be one of those simple "tourist" type things, but it is a spectacular place and on a trip like this, I'd say it's a "must see" for Sam and Ian. CLICK HERE for some Niagra Falls info.

We look forward to seeing them here on Wednesday.

Ah, so they ARE getting a shower then, albeit a cold one, at some point in the tour!

Wow, they seem so busy I'm surprised they have time. I have visions of a three-fold blur leaving amazed people in their wake. Ian should enjoy Niagara as he's usually at home on a boat (if they go on it).

Thanks for the updates everyone.

JeZaBel - yes, I think I should have a name and be a proper Catter. Any suggestions anyone?

Jeri - I clicked but found I am without! Jellybeam will perhaps record stuff so I'll get to listen eventually I hope. Thanks for trying though.

Catspaw49 - I've enjoyed finding my way around Niagara. This www sure is wonderful!

I'm still trying to find outgoing PM's - the search continues. Bet I finally get the hang of this the day Sam gets back to bale me out!

Suppose I'd better go to work - but I'd rather stay here.

Keep on rocking - Gill

Really nice to hear the voices of Katlaughging, Rick, (and was that Spaw who phoned in from the rain?), and of couirse the lads themselves.

Sometime today they may wake up from their toilings and find themselves in Rick's breakfast nook. The show went superbly last night, the weary lads contributing more than their fair share, and when I left at midnight, they were still picking up the compliments, Ian figuring out new international sign language, etc.

Hi All Sam here

Wow what a city Toronto! It is so busy with so many things to look at.
I really enjoyed doing the radio show and it was great to speak to Katlaughing and Catspaw. We were tired but excited so it kind of balanced out if you know what I mean, well we were still awake anyway, which is the main thing!
Great to see that many of you catters in the UK were listening, Hope you enjoyed the show and the music!!

Mum - nice to see you are getting along well, I don't know how to set up different cookies on the same computer but if you ask Jellybeam she will put you straight. Off to Niagra falls today and looking forward to it.
Take care, SamXX

Hey Y'All as they say this side of the pond!

'tis me Ian S. ---> First up again this morning...apparently Bill and Rick stayed up till 4 this morning -and Sam and I are supposed to be the young ones! This morning we made ourselves a KILLER breakfast---> bacon sarnies and fried bread!
Jill-----> Sorry but Sam's diet (and ours too) has been VERY indulgent! Me myself, I actually have fat reserves on my arms now -a first for me!

Rick has been a star -we arrived yesterday having been the wrong way through America and got lost A LOT! when we arrived rick was climbing into his car to go to the radio studio, and we Beeped him and caught him within SECONDS of him leaving! We didn't know where the studio was. DOH!
Myself and Peter T have discovered several differences between American Esperanto Signing and British Esperanto Signing -mainly due to the fact that he knows only one word (not in esperanto) and I know NOTHING!

Anyhoo must dash ---> Might go explore the music shop across the road (sorry mum, dad, but I'll try not to come back home wanting something else!)
Thanks for your support. Mudcat Rules, OK!
Ian S
