Three Folk Songs

We're Offshoot Productions, a theatre company based in Peachtree City, GA. For one of our upcoming productions, we're looking for the scores to three folk songs:

Housewife's Lament ("Oh, life is a toil and love is a trouble . . ."

Golden Ring ("Golden ring around my Susan girl")

Dear Companion ("I once did have a dear companion/Indeed I called his love my own")

All three are in the database, but only Dear Companion has a tune. By downloading the MIDI file (press shift and click on "Click here to play") you can process the MIDI through one of several software packages and produce a score. But it will be melody line only.

Housewife's Lament can be found, words and music in The Folk Songs of North America" by Alan Lomas. P. 133. Should be in any good library and may be still available from Dolphin Books at Doubleday ISBN is: 0-385-04844-0. find the music to "Dear Companion" in the DT. find the music to "Housewife's Lament" in "The Songs of Man" by Norman Luboff and Win Stracke published by Bonanza Books. Sorry, don't know of "Golden Ring"
