Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Lisbweemore Sweet From: Noreen Date: 08 Jun 01 - 07:31 AM I found information at The Sunday Tribune that this song, with lyrics, is included in The Songs of Elizabeth Cronin, a substantial book with two CDs , published by Four Courts Press. I don't have this, unfortunately. Do you, Martin? Noreen |
Subject: Lyr Add: SWEET LISBWEEMORE (Elizabeth Cronin) From: Margaret V Date: 08 Jun 01 - 10:23 AM I have the Elizabeth Cronin set, and the lyrics for Sweet Lisbweemore are indeed printed in the book. I don't know the Patrick Street version though, so I hope the following is helpful to Fabian. I don't know how to do italics or accent marks so if anyone could help with the following edits I'd be grateful: in verse 5, Irish words "a stoir" and "gra mo chroi" should be italicized. There should be an accent over the 'o' in "stoir" and over the 'a' in "gra" and over the 'i' in "chroi." In verse 10, the word "ceap" should be italicized. And in Daibhi O Croinin's name, there should be accents over the 'a' and the last 'i' in Daibhi and over the 'O'and over the 'o' and second 'i' in O Croinin. Thanks! Margaret
As sung by Elizabeth Cronin MLV

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Lisbweemore Sweet From: Margaret V Date: 08 Jun 01 - 10:31 AM Oops. In the last verse the line should read "Ere again on ground my foot I lay." Can a Joe Clone fix that along with the other accent stuff? Thanks. There does seem to be a line missing directly after that line, but unfortunately Cronin doesn't sing that verse on this compilation; the editor printed all the verses from her other versions of the song.
