Subject: Mrs. Hamilton of Pincaitland From: Barry T Date: 12 Jun 01 - 01:48 AM I overheard two pipers talking about this tune in a newsgroup. Curiosity got the better of me, and I sequenced a midi file for my own entertainment. I've been humming this tune for days now, so I thought it worthy to share.

Subject: RE: Mrs. Hamilton of Pincaitland From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 12 Jun 01 - 09:34 AM Barry, I've listened to your midi several times, and yes, it's haunting. But for some reason, verses 3,4,7,& 8 (the first half of each) sounds different. It sounds like the hymn "This is My Father's World." Am I hearing a descant, or a different note in the harmony? Beautiful though, now it's going over and over in my head! |
