Ian S here. Just got back from beverley festival -it really did ROCK!
I was going to write you all to thank you again for your hospitality, but I slept for a few hours and then we had to leave for beverley!

Sam went home last night at 6pm-ish, but I decided to stay, and was still playing tunes at 5.30am! This morning myself and Jezebel were almost the last to leave, as usual. The man Sam Pirt can't take the pace -he kept trotting off to his tent in the middle of the day to sleep -wierd!

Naemanson -I can't wait to see the Sam's redneck picture..
Anyhoo going to sleep now, I'll be back with tales of madness and mayhem..or maybe not

Well, whilst you Beverlonians where coping with Sam & Ian's jet lag, I was gently trying to coax Bill back down. That dood is so high. After seeing Bill trying to cope with sleep deprivation in Muenster, I thought the poor lad would be near dead after this trip to the US. None of it!

He rang up at 6pm on Saturday night, and said he wanted to crash the session in Barrow. Eric came over for the do, and it really was a fantastic evening. We finally chucked in the towel at 2am, and then retreated to my gaff. Eric and I were pretty exhausted, but Bill was on top form, and fuelled by tea, he gave us the lowdown on the trip. Rock & Roll! It was getting light as he left.

I think he's coming back over to you guys as soon as he can.

Hi All

I have just got back from Bevely Folk Festival and finally am about to go to sleep in my own bed tonight!

Beverly went really well, I had such a good birthday party. I had a HUGE cake that Jezabel had cooked with the tune 'Hommage a Edmond Parezure' (Spelt correctly) written note perfect on it, it tasted fantastic!!

I was also running a Birthday band. We had two workshops and ran up to a perfomance of 20mins today and it went really well.

no doubt Ian will tell you a bit more.

They stayed up til 4.30am,still playing,in fact I think they played through the jet lag,..they do both look a little tired now though. Hi all It looks like the whole trip has been a great success; but I knew it would be. The three of them make a good sound. My heart is still full, especially as last night brought back a flood of memories and feelings from last years's visit with Bill and Allan.

Right now I am thinking of writing a lament called "Will I ever leave Wyoming and be closer to you all?!"

Saying goodbye? No, not my style. Our visit and their time was too abbreviated and I think "See you later" is much more like it!

It took quite a time for Bill and I to finally get together in 3-D and warm as our friendship has been here at the 'Cat, I expect more to happen in the 3-D world in the future. Bill is the true "Ambassador-At-Large" of this place and his trips and gatherings have marked significant events and changes in the 'Cat's history. He is more than can be said about him. Karen, Wayne, Connie, and our kids all send the best to you. And to Sam and Ian, if you have read my other postings, you know what and how much I think of these fine young friends. I hope they feel as comfortable with us and in America as they do at home.....The future of our world and our music could not be in better hands.

A real side plus to this trip was to get to know Sam and Ian's parents here at Mudcat. We don't want to say goodbye to them either and I think Gill and Geraldine(Jellybeam) have been pleasantly surprised we are not all complete loonies. I hope we see both of them around the 'Cat in the future.

I'm only sorry that I even missed out on the breakfast the morning they left here and that there was so little time for more music. Trust me guys, I cook better than Connie and I might even have done well enough to lure you into another day.

Bill has yet to visit Kentucky and Tennessee and I would love to make that part of the trip with him when he decides to go there. They are my second home and travelling them with Bill would be a treat. We also have already gotten a CD to a venue here and they're interested in knowing when you'll be back. I think Connie would make a fine agent for somebody!

Be safe travelling and share a few thoughts of us with all you meet back home. So for now..........

Glad I caught some of the radio show last night. It was 53 weeks ago tonight that I sat with Bill, Allan, Tiger, Vixen, Renaud, and others on the bank of the river behind Vixen's house in Connecticut. I still tell people about that amazing night (as were all the other stops on last year's adventure). From what I saw last night, this years trip was filled with the same spirit of love and music. Hi All Ian And Sam P here! Really enjoyed the show last night -what a great way to spend your penultimate night in the USA! Bill is asleep like a baby on the couch, and we are trying to convince willy (alisons dog) that we aren't burglars! The drive was longer than we expected. Somehow we got the crazy idea that if we parked up and all went to sleep on the way there, that we would wake up 30minutes later! We woke up after two hours...Whoopsee!
