I don't Caerphilly rains or freezes,
Long as I got my plastic cheeses
melted on my burger in the car....

Sorry, been a bad week.

Bert: Your story about "imported" Romano reminded me of this:

A certain buffet-style restaurant near here had 2 prices posted on its menu, one for "Domestic beer" and one for "Imported beer." I ordered a locally made "craft" brew. I was surprised to see that the clerk rang up the "imported" price. I said, "Hey, that's not imported!" He replied, "Yeah, well, we classify it as imported because it's expensive."

Reminds me of the old saw about the Italian restaurant located somewhere outside of Italy. The owner was proud that they used only imported cheeses, "Much better than anything you'll get in Italy -- they use domestic cheese there!"

"I've been exiled in California for 25 years, kind of like Napoleon in Corsica..."

(Joe Offer)

I'd have seen Joe as the sort of man who knew his Ajaccio from his Elba!

"Cheese, my lady love..."

There are several web sites that contain a transcription of Monty Python's Cheese Shop Sketch. They must all derive from the same source because they all contain the same misspellings! It appears that the transcriber had no idea how to spell many of the varieties of cheese mentioned in the sketch, so he spelled them phonetically! LOL! Would you believe "Dorset Bluveny"? (see above)

Don't forget the chorus from by Greg Brown

Singing rooty toot toot for the moon
It's the biggest star I've ever seen
It's a pearl of wisdom, a slice of green cheese
And it's burnin' just like kerosene
Burnin' just like kerosene

I wrote the song 'Gloucester Cheese and Ale' but neither I nor anyone else sang it much. Questions: Is it the only song which is simply a recipe? Anyone remember the song? Anyone want it?

I'm surprised no one mentioned this song featuring the cheeses of Cheshire. Although it's mostly about a bear, and the cheeses seem to be thrown in as a afterthought, or maybe sponsored by the tourist board of Cheshire.http://www.mudcat.org/@displaysong.cfm?SongID=1323

"The cheeses of Cheshire are famed, but beware..."

You've probably seen this as a meme already, but just in case you missed it:

Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Who am I to dis a brie?
I cheddar the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for stilton
Some of them want to fondue you
Some of them want to be Roquefort Bleu....

Ahhhhhhhh so good guest! Glad we didnt get the rest of the meme as it would be a Fetta worse than death to have the whole song going round my Brien :-)

Cheers,

Andrez
