My local pizza maker is Persian, has two children and has never heard the song.

Those are sort of the lyrics. I don't remember the French part. I'd need notes too. Perhaps I'll find a teacher with a recording I can borrow and transcribe...

I think the extra french verse was thrown in for curricula reasons by the bilingual Canadian school that posted the lyrics. I doubt French had a part in the original version. Say, isn't this the song (with echoes) the pizza delivery car played in the movie, The Money Pit?

I think you're right, it IS the song with the echoes. I guess I'll rent the Money Pit. I don't think the film held my attention long enough to get to this wonderful song.

Thanks for all the leads. I finally remembered the tune once a got a good look at the lyrics.

This note, though, is especially for Jen in reply to her 1/13 message. I phoned in a pizza order one day and when I came to pick it up, the owner said "the pizza is here," which made us both laugh. I have since introduced myself as "I am a pepperoni and mushroom pizza" when I call. I'll see if I can find one of those fun recordings for her.

You might find the words to "I am a pizza" in an CD by Canadian children's singer Charlotte Diamond. I know she sings that song in French: "Je suis une pizza". Her label is "HugBug Records" and is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
