Halló all , well I am still playing Irish music. I am trying to sing and play country music with an other band called " LuckyLuke " the songs are from Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, Dwight Yokam, Alan Jackson and many more. But I got some problem, It´s how to play lead guitar In country music I am In a clash at the moment and trying to learn more but I think we don´t have enough books to go after, remember anything ?. And what guitar should I have , I own Yamaha SG 1200 a good old electricguitar good In rock and blues but In country??? I don´t know, I am tol to get me a Fender Tele, what I don´t know do you ????.

Is there anyone who knows how to play the lead guitar? Can you teach me through the Internet??. I know the scale E- major I can move it up and down the guitar. Well I hope someone can help. All the best skarpi Iceland.

Hi Skarpi, from what I know of country a Tele is the thing-though I've seen players with every kind of guitar. Perhaps to get your sound, an efffects box, like a zoom (cheap!!) or something will give you the tones, you know how you want to sound. I think steel guitar is the really good thing to play lead work on, but haven't a clue how to even start.

Talking about electrics, effects, amps and the like will maybe get us shot !!

maybe A minor pentatonic, a major pentatonic will be a start.

best of luck from a crap guitar player.
Eric

According to Kendall, you'll need two chords less than a folk singer. He'll have to explain. Make sure you add some Hank Williams/Luke The Drifter stuff! And have fun.

Skarpi If you can get in touch with a good fiddle player who does country western he can teach you more in ten minute the different styles lead in etc than you'll ever learn in a book. There are good country western fiddle players I firmly believe in every country throughout the world and I'm sure with an ad in your local papers you'll get a response. As for the proper instrument any good brand of guitar is suitable but forget about the fancy stuff Louie Roy
