Subject: Stood Up (Ricky Nelson) From: Whistle Stop Date: 29 Jun 01 - 10:09 AM Not exactly folk (even by my liberal definition), but I suppose it has a bit of a blues feel to it. I promised to play this old Ricky Nelson song in a performance this weekend, and can't remember all the words. The first two verses are: Well I've been waiting ever since eight/Guess my baby's got another date/Stood up, broken hearted, again/I guess she's out having a ball/Not even thinking 'bout me at all/Stood up, broken hearted, again I figure some of you are old enough to remember this one, and a few of you guitar players may even appreciate it for James Burton's tasty Telecaster licks. Can anyone help me out with the rest of the lyrics? I'm in a hurry (only a few more hours on this computer before I go home for the weekend); can we keep the Mudcat rapid-response streak going? Thanks, in advance. -- WS |

Stood Up B
Well, I've been waitin' ever since eight
I'll bet she's out havin' a ball
Well, I know just what I oughta do
Why must I always be the one
But I guess I'll go on bein' a fool
Well, I know just what I oughta do
Stood up, broken-hearted, again |
