Subject: Welcome to PeteBoom From: Big Mick Date: 29 Jun 01 - 02:00 PM Folks, would you be so kind as to give a good old Mudcat welcome to my friend, PeteBoom. Pete is a wonder to behold and loves the music. He plays in the venerable West Michigan Irish Band, The KWILS, and is one of the founders of, and Bass drummer for, The Glendaloch Pipe Band. When it comes to Celtic events in W. Michigan, you will usually find Pete involved. Pete, I want to personally welcome you to the finest musical community on the Internet. On everything in the music community from lyrics/chords to history to idle chitchat to the events that inspire our music.........this is the place to be. You will come to know the players as you go. I would suggest that you read the Mudcat FAQ and pay particular attention to the stuff on The DT, and on the search engines. Most of what you could look for will be found here. Some important things to remember. If you are around Catspaw, stay upwind and beyond belch range. If you are around katlaughing, watch out. She will steal your heart. And the same goes for Áine, and she is a redheaded Goddess. And yourself, just as I, are a sucker for a redheaded woman. Roger in Baltimore and Roger the Skiffler....if you ever meet either of these gobshites and shake their hands, check your rings and watches. Barry Finn.........you are fine around him until he starts beating on that fecking goatskin and singing. The decibel level from both approaches dangerous levels. When it comes to THE FAIR ONE, you should avoid anything other than polite conversation. She has a black belt in wielding the black iron griddle. And should you decide she is cute and start to flirt with her, think again. The largest Irishman you have ever seen takes it personal...........LOL. Oh..........yeah...........and one more thing..........I am the keeper of the Sacred Fertility Rites in this neck of the cyberwoods. You will have to find yourself something else to use to start conversations with women.........hahahahahahaha. Welcome, friend. All the best, Big Mick |

Subject: RE: BS: Welcome to PeteBoom From: PeteBoom Date: 29 Jun 01 - 03:30 PM Gosh, Mick.... (blushing uncontrollably...) OK - I've actually lurked here for a couple of months - finally broke down and registered three or four weeks ago about the time the doo-doo hit the fan at home and work. So - Finally in and posted a couple of bits. Hats off to the keeper and guardian(s) of the site, and a big "well done" to those who care enough to see that they post the real deal in DT. Thanks for the welcome, the rest of you. Regards - Pete |

Subject: RE: BS: Welcome to PeteBoom From: catspaw49 Date: 29 Jun 01 - 04:01 PM PeteBoom? oh yeah, there's a winner.........Are you related to Dr.Boom who sells lightning rods over in east Ohio? That guy must be worth a fortune as damn near everyone has lightning rods on their house, including my friend Wayne's Dad who was struck by lightning on his front porch. There's either a moral or a punchline there, but whatever it is, the rods worked.....his house was fine. BTW, he too recovered. Well Pete, your association with Mick does not necessarily put you in good stead here as I have bone to pick with the lad which I'll get to on another thread after this. I hope you are a reasonable sort though and with any luck you'll find this place to be filled with talented, intelligent, loving, compassionate, and knowledgeable folks. Sadly, I'm not one of them and neither is Mick, but if you'll hang around I know some will show up. Now I have to go deal with Mick and the rest of the firm of layabouts............... Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: Welcome to PeteBoom From: katlaughing Date: 30 Jun 01 - 12:18 AM And here I was thinking we had our first Dutch Mudcatter, as in Payt-a-Boom, kind of like Corrie TenBoom, the lady who wrote the "Hiding Place." Ah, well, welcome ya are then, darlin' friend o'Mick's and if ye've a mind to, stop in at the Temple, for he is not the only one who gets past the door for the Sacred Fertility Rites, we just let him think so...**BG** All the best, kat/katlaughing |
