Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cloudberry Day From: Tattie Bogle Date: 20 Jul 01 - 08:30 PM Thanks for the message: I've tried several times in the last week to get into the songs posted, but every time Internet Explorer crashes! Probably my temperamental computer! I found I have Cloudberry Day on the "Real" CD which came out at the tome of the "Both Sides the Tweed" Festival last October in Kelso, so I eventually got the worsd by over-exerting the Paude button on my CD Player. I'll post them when I've time! Tattie B |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cloudberry Day From: dick greenhaus Date: 21 Jul 01 - 11:49 PM There are now seven CDs in the Tradition Bearers Series. THey're all magnificent examples of traditional singing and fine singers: Bob Blair, Heather Heywood, Alison McMorland, Jack Beck, Maureen Jelkes, Tom Spiers and Jimmy Hutchinson. They're all available from CAMSCO Music. I can't honestly say which one is my favorite. |

Subject: Lyr Add: CLOUDBERRY DAY (Geordie McIntyre)^^ From: GUEST,Ewan McVicar Date: 17 Aug 01 - 06:58 PM Here's Geordie's lyric. I expect that as usual all the linebreaks will disappear. Can someone please fix them, Ta CLOUDBERRY DAY We made our way On a cloudberry day, Across the rolling hills tae Yarrow. Summer days are here, The laverock singing clear, Across the rolling hills tae Yarrow. Heard the golden plover call, Saw the kestrel rise and fall, Across the rolling hills tae Yarrow. Distant views tae misty dens, Glamourie beyond oor ken, Across the rolling hills tae Yarrow. When we reached the Douglasburn, We sang a song in turn, Tae ease the winding way tae Yarrow. Yarrow stream came into view, And the guid auld Goerdon too, Tak time tae quench oor drouth at yarrow. At the toon foot rendezvous, Charlie's welcome ever true, Enjoined in friendship's name in Yarrow. So near, so far away, we celebrate the day, We crossed the rolling hills tae Yarrow. We made our way On a cloudberry day, Across the rolling hills tae Yarrow. ^^ |
